If your Craftsman Trimmer engine lacks power or stalls when cutting, several factors could be the cause. Start by checking the fuel. Old or improperly mixed fuel can cause issues, so drain the gas tank and add a fresh fuel mixture. A plugged air filter may be the problem, so replace or clean the air filter. A fouled spark plug or a plugged spark arrestor might also be the issue; in these cases, replace the spark plug or clean/replace the spark arrestor, respectively. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the carburetor adjustment may be improper, and you should take the trimmer to a Sears authorized service dealer for an adjustment.
