  Your Craftsman Portable Generator might not start due to several reasons: the engine switch or fuel valve may be in the off position, the oil level could be low, the air filter might be dirty, the generator could be out of fuel, the spark plug wire might be disconnected, or the engine could be flooded with fuel. To resolve this, ensure the engine switch and fuel valve are in the on position, fill the crankcase to the correct level or place the generator on a level surface, clean or replace the air filter, add fuel to the tank, connect the spark plug wire, or wait 5 minutes and re-crank the engine if it's flooded.
