ASCENT RATE
Theascentrateisshownonthedisplayasapointsindicatorinthecenterofthe
screen.Itworksasshowninthetablebelow.Ifthemaximumspeedisexceeded
duringtheascent,thedisplaywillshowthewordSLOWwhilealsoashingthe
threeiconsandsoundinganaudiblealarm.Undertheseconditions,thedivermust
halttheascentuntilthewordSLOWdisappearsfromthescreenandthedisplay
returns to its normal state.
NOTE:Ifthemaximumascentspeedof12m/min-40ft/minisexceededfor
anextendedtime,theDONATELLO/MICHELANGELO/RAFFAELLOcomputer
willmakethenextdivemoreconservative,butonlyifitistakenduringthedesat
time,inordertoprotectthediverfromtheriskofdecompressionsickness.
