Bedrooms. Smoke alarms are required
protection in all sleeping rooms. A bedroom
is NOT a good location for a stand-alone heat
alarm.
Hallways. A Heat Alarm is not recommended
for installation in hallways. This area should
be equipped with smoke and CO alarms.
Areas Not Appropriate for Heat Alarms
Laundry Areas. The low volume steam
and gases produced by dryers and other
equipment will not trigger the CFH10. The
recommended Fixed Temperature Setting
for laundry areas is 117°F (47°C)
Basements and Crawlspaces. The
Heat Alarm is not affected by dust,
small insects or seasonal changes in
temperature. The recommended Fixed
Temperature Setting for basements and
crawlspaces is 135°F (57°C)
Recommended Locations for your Heat Alarm
Note: Applicable building codes or other local laws
may require the installation of CO and Smoke alarms
in addition to the minimum recommended by this
manual.
