What to do if my Crusader Engine cranks but won't start?
    • J
      johnharrisAug 17, 2025
If your Crusader Engine cranks but won't start, first review the “STARTING ENGINE” section in the OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS. Then, check the fuel tank level and fill it if needed, ensuring the shut-off valve(s) are open. Inspect for plugged fuel filters, plugged or kinked fuel lines, or a plugged fuel-tank vent. Also, check the fuel for water or other contamination; if contaminated, drain and clean the fuel system. You can try opening the throttle 100% and cranking the engine, then immediately returning the throttle to 1000 RPM once it starts. Check the electrical connections of the fuel pump, and make sure the anti-siphon valve isn't faulty.

      Janice FloresAug 21, 2025
If your Crusader Engine is missing, running rough, and/or backfiring, the issue could stem from several causes. Begin by checking the fuel filters for any blockages and replace them if necessary. Inspect the fuel lines and fuel tank vent for any plugs or kinks, repairing or replacing the fuel lines as needed. Ensure the anti-siphon valve isn't faulty. Also, inspect the flame arrestor for dirt and clean or replace it as necessary.

Why is my Crusader Challenger 6.0L Catanium CES Engine oil pressure low?
    • M
      Melissa GonzalesAug 29, 2025
If your Crusader Engine oil pressure is low, start by checking the oil level and add the specified oil if it's low. If the crankcase is overfilled, remove the required amount of oil and determine the cause of the overfill (such as improper filling). Consider changing the oil and filter in this case. Also, investigate if the oil is diluted or if an improper grade/viscosity of oil is being used, determining the cause of dilution (like insufficient engine temperature or excessive idling).

What causes poor performance in my Crusader Engine or boat?
    • M
      michael03Sep 2, 2025
Poor performance in your Crusader Engine or boat can arise from several factors. Check the remote control and throttle body linkage for freedom of movement and proper adjustment, repairing or replacing as necessary. Inspect the propeller for damage or if it's the improper type, and repair or replace it if needed. Ensure excessive water is not in the bilge by pumping it out and investigating the source of entry. Clean the bottom of the boat to remove excessive growth and apply anti-fouling paint. Avoid overloading the boat by reducing and/or redistributing the load. Clean the flame arrestor. Also, check for engine overheating.

What causes transmission slipping or erratic operation in my Crusader Engine?
    • T
      Todd HamiltonSep 9, 2025
If your Crusader Engine's transmission is slipping or operating erratically, check the oil level and add the specified oil if it's low. If the transmission is overfilled, drain the required amount of oil. Ensure the transmission shift lever is fully engaged by adjusting the shift linkage and remote control. Also, inspect the fluid for contamination, determine the source, and change the fluid.

Why is my Crusader Engine overheating?
    • S
      Shelley WeberNov 12, 2025
Your Crusader Engine may be overheating due to several reasons. Check for loose or worn drive belts and adjust or replace them if necessary. Look for collapsed, kinked, or leaking hoses and replace them. Inspect the transmission/engine oil cooler for blockage and flush it in the opposite direction of normal flow. A faulty thermostat could also be the cause, so consider replacing it. Ensure the sea-water intake valve is fully open and that there are no restrictions in the sea-water pickup. Other potential issues include a faulty temperature sending unit or gauge (test and replace if needed), a worn or damaged sea-water pump impeller (replace it), low coolant level in the fresh-water section (check for leaks and refill), heat exchanger passages plugged with scales and debris (clean and flush...
