Why won't my Cub Cadet Lawn Mower engine start?
- CChris BowersAug 12, 2025
If your Cub Cadet Lawn Mower engine fails to start, several issues could be the cause. First, ensure the PTO/Blade Engage knob is in the disengaged (OFF) position and that the parking brake is engaged. Check that the spark plug wires are connected and the throttle lever is in the FAST position. If it still doesn't start, make sure the choke is activated. The fuel tank may be empty or contain stale fuel; if so, fill it with fresh gas. A blocked fuel line or faulty spark plugs could also be the problem; clean the fuel line, replace the fuel filter, or clean/replace the spark plugs. If the engine is flooded, crank it with the throttle in the FAST position. Finally, check for blown fuses and replace them if necessary.
