FUEL
Fuel
Level
Check
and
Refueling
Always
use
light
oil
diesel
fuel.
You
are
required
to
use
recommended
diesel
fuels
only.
Do
not
use
alter¬
native
fuels,
because
their
quality
is
unknown
and
their
quality
may
be
inferior.
Do
not
use
kerosene,
which
is
very
low
in
cetane
rating,
and
could
adversely
affect
the
engine.
A
WARNING
1.
Do
not
add
fuel
or
alcohol
to
diesel
fuel.
This
creates
a
vapor
which
is
extremely
explosive.
2.
NEVER
SMOKE
while
refueling.
Shut
off
engine
and
electrical
equipment.
3.
Never
remove
the
fuel
tank
cap
or
fill
the
fuel
tank
near
an
open
flame.
Do
not
smoke
when
working
around
inflammable
fuel.
A
CAUTION
1.
Be
sure
to
use
a
strainer
when
filling
the
fuel
tank.
Dirt
or
sand
in
the
fuel
will
cause
fuel
injection
pump
failure.
2.
Be
careful
not
to
let
the
fuel
tank
become
empty,
or
air
can
enter
the
fuel
system,
which
will
necessitate
bleeding
before
engine
will
start.
3.
Be
careful
not
to
spill
fuel
during
refuel¬
ing.
If
fuel
should
spill,
wipe
it
off
at
once
to
reduce
chance
of
a
fire.
^NOTE
Do
not
fill
the
tank
to
its
full
capacity.
Space
is
required
for
vapor
expansion
in
the
event
of
a
temperature
change.
A
tank
filled
to
capacity
may
overflow
if
exposed
to
a
rise
in
temperature
or
direct
sunlight.
Be
sure
that
the
filler
cap
is
tightened
securely
before
starting
the
engine.
Bleeding
the
Fuel
System
Bleeding
the
fuel
system
is
required:
1.
A
fter
the
fuel
filter
and
lines
have
been
detached
and
refitted.
2.
After
the
fuel
tank
has
become
empty.
3.
Before
the
tractor
is
to
be
used
after
long
storage.
PROCEDURE
1.
Fill
the
fuel
tank.
Open
the
fuel
shut-off
valve.
(See
Figures
35
and
36.)
2.
Loosen
air
vent
plugs
of
the
fuel
filter
a
few
turns.
