How to fix a Cub Cadet CC 2000 that will not start?
    • R
      Robert PowellJul 30, 2025
If your Cub Cadet Trimmer engine won't start, several factors could be the reason. First, check that the on/off stop control is in the ON position. If it is, ensure the fuel tank isn't empty and is filled with properly mixed fuel. Insufficient priming can also be a culprit; press the primer bulb fully and slowly 10 times. If the engine is flooded, squeeze the trigger and pull the starter rope. Old or improperly mixed fuel requires draining the gas tank and adding a fresh fuel mixture. A fouled spark plug should be replaced or cleaned, and a plugged spark arrestor needs cleaning or replacement.

What to do if the cutting attachment on my Cub Cadet CC 2000 Trimmer will not advance?
    • A
      Alexander VargasAug 4, 2025
If the cutting attachment of your Cub Cadet Trimmer will not advance, several issues could be the cause. First, if the cutting attachment is bound with grass, stop the engine and clean the cutting attachment. Other causes include the cutting attachment being out of line (refill with new line), an inner reel bound up (replace the inner reel), a dirty cutting head (clean inner reel and outer spool), line welded (disassemble, remove the welded section, and rewind), line twisted when refilled (disassemble and rewind the line), or not enough line exposed (push the bump knob and pull out line until 4 inches (102 mm) of line is outside of the cutting attachment).

    • K
      kathylynnAug 14, 2025
If your Cub Cadet Trimmer engine won't accelerate, there are several potential causes. Old or improperly mixed fuel can be a factor, so drain the gas tank and add fresh fuel mixture. A dirty air filter can restrict airflow, so clean or replace it. Also, a cutting attachment bound with grass can prevent acceleration; stop the engine and clean the cutting attachment. Finally, a plugged spark arrestor may be the cause, so clean or replace the spark arrestor.
