With the piston at Top Dead Center
(TDC), orient the timing marks on the
Mechanical Compression Release
gear to be parallel to the sealing sur-
face of the cylinder head. Figure A.
If the MCR bump is not visible as in
Figure B, the timing is 180 degrees off.
The MCR bump should be visible as
in Figure C.
