YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
TheCaliforniaAir ResourcesBoardand MTDConsumerGroup Incarepleasedtoexplainthe evaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyon your2007lawn
mower.InCalifornia,new lawnmowermustbedesigned,built and equippedto meetthe State'sstringent anti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupIncmust
warrantthe EECSonyour lawnmowerfor the periodof time listedbelowprovidedtherehas beennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof yourlawn mower.
YourEECSmayincludepartssuchas the carburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,
canisters,filters, vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Where a warrantable condition exists, MTDConsumer Group Inc will repair your lawn mower at no cost toyou including diagnosis, parts and labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfor two years.If anyevaporativeemission-relatedpart onyour equipmentisdefective,the part will be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the lawnmowerowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelisted in yourowner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroup Increcom-
mendsthatyou retainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceon your lawnmower,butMTDConsumerGroupInccannotdenywarrantysolelyfor the lack ofreceipts.
As the lawnmowerowner,youshould howeverbeawarethat MTDConsumerGroupInc maydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyour lawn mowerora parthasfailed
due to abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyour lawnmowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soonas theproblemexists. The
warrantyrepairsshould becompletedin a reasonableamountof time,notto exceed30days.If you havea questionregardingyourwarrantycoverage,youshould
contacttheMTDConsumerGroupInc ServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupInc warrantsto the ultimatepurchaserandeachsubsequentpurchaserthatthe lawnmoweris: Designed,builtand equippedso as to
conformwithall applicableregulations;andfreefromdefectsin materialsand workmanshipthat causethefailureof a warrantedpartto beidenticalinall material
respectstothat partas describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthe datethe lawn mowerisdeliveredto an ultimatepurchaseror first placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiod istwo years.
Subjectto certainconditionsandexclusionsas statedbelow,thewarrantyon emission-relatedpartsis asfollows:
1. Any warrantedpartthat is notscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein the writteninstructionssupplied,iswarrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove.If the partfailsduringthe periodof warrantycoverage,the partwill berepairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledonlyfor regularinspectioninthe writteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedfor thewarrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein the writteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedfor the periodof time beforethe
first scheduledreplacementdate forthat part. Ifthe partfails beforethefirst scheduledreplacement,the partwill be repairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingtosubsection(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedor replacedunder warrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainderofthe periodpriorto the
first scheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementof anywarrantedpartunderthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbe performedat a warrantystationat nochargeto theowner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedatallof our distributioncentersthat are franchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Thelawn mowerownerwill notbechargedfor diagnosticlaborthat isdirectly associatedwithdiagnosisof a defecti,a,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc is liablefor damagesto other engineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedbya failure underwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTD ConsumerGroupInc will maintainasupplyofwarrantedpartssufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpartmaybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsandmust beprovidedwithoutchargeto theowner.Such usewill
notreducethewarrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthatare not exemptedbythe AirResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseof anynon-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsbythe
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroupIncwill notbe liabletowarrantfailuresof warrantedpartscaused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepair orreplacementof anywarrantedpart otherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfrom suchwarrantycoverageif MTDConsumerGroup
Incdemonstratesthat thelawn mowerhas beenabused,neglected,or improperlymaintained,andthat suchabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenancewasthe
direct causeof the needfor repairor replacementof the part.That notwithstanding,anyadjustmentof a componentthat hasa factoryinstalled,andproperly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceisstill eligiblefor warrantycoverage.The followingemissionwarrantypartslistare covered:FuelLine,FuelLineClamps
