How to fix Cub Cadet RT65 Tiller engine that fails to start?
    • R
      Rachel FowlerAug 2, 2025
If your Cub Cadet Tiller's engine won't start, make sure the fuel tank has clean, fresh gasoline. Also, check that the throttle control lever is in the correct starting position. A blocked fuel line could also be the culprit, so try cleaning it. Ensure the choke is in the ON position and the spark plug wire is connected. If the spark plug is faulty, clean, adjust the gap, or replace it.

      Matthew CrosbyAug 12, 2025
If your Cub Cadet Tiller engine runs erratically, first ensure the choke lever is in the OFF position. Check the spark plug wire to make sure it's connected and tight. A blocked fuel line or stale fuel can also cause this issue, so clean the fuel line and refill the tank with fresh gasoline. Clear the vent in the gas cap if it's plugged. Finally, drain the fuel tank and refill with fresh fuel if there's water or dirt in the fuel system.
