Overview

The Cuisinart® Copper Tri-Ply Stainless Cookware is a high-quality cooking utensil designed for gourmet cooking, offering superior heat conductivity and even heat distribution. This cookware is backed by a lifetime warranty in the U.S. and Canada, covering defects in material and workmanship under normal home use from the date of original purchase.

Function Description:

The primary function of this cookware is to provide an efficient and effective cooking experience. Its triple-ply construction ensures rapid and even heat distribution, which is crucial for preventing hot spots and ensuring consistent cooking results. It is suitable for a wide range of cooking tasks, from boiling water to simmering sauces and baking in the oven. The uniquely designed rims and covers create a perfect fit, which helps to reduce the evaporation of liquids during cooking, thereby retaining moisture and flavor in food.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Construction: Triple-ply material, consisting of copper and stainless steel. This design optimizes heat conductivity and durability.
  • Oven Safety: The cookware, including its handles, is oven-safe up to 500°F (260°C). This allows for seamless transitions from stovetop to oven for various cooking methods, such as baking or finishing dishes. It can also go from burner to broiler to table when placed on a heat-resistant trivet.
  • Heat Distribution: The triple-ply construction is engineered for superior heat conductivity and even heat distribution, preventing hot spots and ensuring consistent cooking.
  • Lid Design: The covers are designed to fit perfectly, creating a partial vacuum seal when left on after turning off the heat. This helps to reduce liquid evaporation.
  • Handles: Oven-safe handles are designed to withstand high temperatures, though potholders are recommended for safe handling.

Usage Features:

  • Heat Settings: It is recommended to use low to medium heat settings for most cooking tasks due to the cookware's high conductivity. Medium-high heat is sufficient for boiling water. High heat should be avoided to prevent food from burning and potential damage to the pan or stovetop.
  • Stovetop Compatibility: The cookware is suitable for use on various stovetops, including gas burners and glass cooktops. When using on a glass cooktop, avoid sliding the cookware to prevent scratches. For gas burners, ensure the flame touches only the pan bottom to prevent energy waste and discoloration of the pan sides.
  • Vacuum Seal: The tight-fitting lids can create a partial vacuum seal if left on after turning off the heat. To break this seal, simply turn the heat on for a few moments, and the cover will lift easily. To prevent the seal, remove the cover or set it slightly ajar before turning off the heat.
  • Utensil Compatibility: While plastic or wooden utensils are recommended to preserve the cooking surface, metal utensils can be used. Although metal utensils may scratch the interior surface, this will not impair the cookware's performance or durability. Hand mixers with metal beaters can also be used without affecting performance.
  • Pre-use Preparation: Before first use, wash the new cookware in hot water with a mild soap or dish detergent, rinse thoroughly, and wipe dry immediately with a soft dish towel.
  • Empty Pan Warning: Never leave the cookware empty over a hot burner, as this can damage both the pan and the stovetop.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning After Use: Immediately after each use, fill the pan with hot water and liquid dish detergent and let it stand until lukewarm. Use a sponge or soft cloth to remove food particles. Avoid steel wool or other coarse metal pads, as they can cause scratches. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately for a flawless finish.
  • Copper Luster Maintenance: To maintain the copper's shine, use a metal polish or a homemade mixture of ½ cup white vinegar, ¼ cup table salt, and ¼ cup scouring powder. Rub the mixture over the copper with a cloth or nonabrasive scrubber, then rinse clean with hot water. Do not use cleaners containing bleach on copper cookware.
  • Dishwasher Use: Dishwasher cleaning is not recommended for the copper exterior, as abrasive cleaning agents can scratch and discolor it. The stainless steel covers are dishwasher safe and will return to a mirror shine, but regular dishwasher cleaning may scratch them over time. A non-lemon detergent is recommended for covers if dishwashing.
  • Stain Removal:
    • Multicolored Stains (Calcium Deposits): These harmless deposits can be removed with a little warm vinegar.
    • Light Residue/Cloudy Appearance (from pasta/oatmeal): Easily removed with any nonabrasive cleaning product.
    • Stubborn Black Residue (Burned Food): If soaking doesn't loosen it, add water to a depth of one inch, then add a tablespoon of dishwasher detergent (non-lemon product). Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes. Let cool, then drain and rinse. Loosen residue with a sponge or plastic spatula. Repeat if necessary. This procedure should be carried out under a hood with an exhaust fan or in a well-ventilated room due to irritating detergent fumes.
  • Storage: A cookware rack or pegboard is recommended for convenient and safe storage. Stacking and crowding in cabinets or drawers may cause scratches.
  • Hassle-Free Replacement Warranty: If the cookware fails within the warranty period, Cuisinart will repair or replace it at no cost. To obtain a return shipping label, email www.cuisinart.com/customer-care/product-return or call 1-800-726-0190.
  • Warranty Exclusions: The warranty excludes damage from accident, misuse, abuse, overheating, scratches, stains, discoloration, or other damage to external or internal surfaces that do not impair the functional utility of the cookware. It also excludes incidental or consequential damages, though some states may not allow these exclusions.
  • California Residents Specifics: California residents have the option to return a nonconforming product to the store of purchase or another retail store selling Cuisinart® products of the same type for repair, referral to an independent repair facility, replacement, or refund. Alternatively, they can return nonconforming products directly to Cuisinart for repair or replacement by calling 1-800-726-0190 or emailing www.cuisinart.com/customer-care/product-return. Cuisinart will cover the cost of repair, replacement, shipping, and handling for warranted nonconforming products.
