This warranty excludes damage caused by accident, misuse or

not apply to scratches, stains, discoloration or other damage
to external or internal surfaces which does not impair the
functional utility of the cookware.
This warranty also expressly excludes all incidental or
consequential damages. Some states do not allow the
exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages,
so the foregoing limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also

CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY
California law provides that for In-Warranty Service, California
residents have the option of returning a nonconforming
product (a) to the store where it was purchased or (b) to
another retail store which sells Cuisinart
®
products of the same
type. The retail store shall then, according to its preference,
either repair the product, refer the consumer to an independent
repair facility, replace the product, or refund the purchase price
less the amount directly attributable to the consumer’s prior
usage of the product. If the above two options do not result in
the appropriate relief to the consumer, the consumer may then
take the product to an independent repair facility, if service or
repair can be economically accomplished. Cuisinart, and not
the consumer, will be responsible for the reasonable cost of
such service, repair, replacement or refund for nonconforming
products under warranty.
California residents may also, according to their preference,
return nonconforming products directly to Cuisinart for
repair, or if necessary, replacement, by calling our Consumer
Service Center toll-free at 1-800-726-0190. To obtain a return
shipping label, email us at www.cuisinart.com/customer-care/
product-return. Cuisinart will be responsible for the cost of
the repair, replacement, and shipping and handling for such
nonconforming products under warranty.

Overview

The Cuisinart® Contour Stainless Cookware is a durable and high-performance cooking set designed for gourmet chefs and home cooks alike. It features an exclusive aluminum encapsulated base, which provides superior heat conductivity and even heat distribution, ensuring efficient cooking. The cookware is warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal home use for the original purchaser's lifetime.

Function Description:

The primary function of this cookware is to provide a reliable and efficient cooking surface for various culinary tasks, from boiling and simmering to baking and broiling. Its design aims to reduce liquid evaporation, making it suitable for dishes that require precise moisture control. The cookware is compatible with gas burners, glass stovetops, and induction stovetops, offering versatility across different kitchen setups. It is also oven-safe, allowing for seamless transitions from stovetop to oven to table.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Material: Stainless Steel with an aluminum encapsulated base.
  • Oven Safety: Cookware is oven safe up to 500°F. Glass covers are oven safe up to 350°F.
  • Heat Distribution: Superior heat conductivity and even heat distribution due to the aluminum encapsulated base.
  • Compatibility: Suitable for gas burners, glass stovetops, and induction stovetops.
  • Lids: Uniquely designed rims and covers create a perfect fit to reduce liquid evaporation and can form a partial vacuum seal.

Usage Features:

  • Heat Settings: It is recommended to use low to medium heat settings for most cooking, as the cookware's high conductivity makes it very efficient. Medium-high heat is sufficient for boiling water.
  • Gas Burner Use: When cooking on a gas burner, ensure the flame only touches the pan bottom to prevent energy waste and discoloration of the pan sides. For very low settings on some gas burners that may still cause overheating, an inexpensive gas "flame-tamer" can be used.
  • Glass Stovetop Use: To avoid scratching a glass cooktop, do not slide the cookware on the surface. Consult the glass cooktop manual for specific recommendations.
  • Induction Stovetop Use: For optimal performance on induction stovetops, always center the cooking vessel. Refer to the induction stovetop manual for detailed information.
  • Oven Use: The cookware can be used in the oven up to 500°F (350°F for glass covers). Always use potholders when handling hot cookware. It can go directly from burner to broiler to table when placed on a heat-resistant trivet.
  • Vacuum Seal: The tight-fitting covers can create a partial vacuum seal if left on after turning off the heat. To break this seal, simply turn on the heat for a few moments, and the cover will lift easily. To prevent a seal, remove the cover or set it slightly ajar before turning off the heat.
  • Utensils: While plastic or wooden utensils are recommended to preserve the cooking surface, metal utensils can be used. They may scratch the surface but will not impair the cookware's performance or durability. Hand mixers with metal beaters can also be used, with similar considerations.
  • Safety Precautions: Never use high heat, as food will burn. Never leave cookware empty over a hot burner, as this can damage the pan and stovetop, and void the warranty. Never leave cookware unattended. If cookware overheats, do not remove it immediately; turn off the heat and allow it to cool naturally.

Maintenance Features:

  • Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the cookware in hot water with a mild soap or dish detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry immediately, or place it in a dishwasher.
  • Routine Cleaning: After each use, fill the pan with hot water and liquid dish detergent, letting it stand until lukewarm. Use a sponge or soft cloth to remove food particles. Avoid steel wool or other metal pads that may cause scratches. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately for a flawless finish.
  • Dishwasher Safety: The cookware is dishwasher safe. However, be mindful that abrasive soil from other dishes or carelessly packed flatware can scratch the surface. Regular dishwasher cleaning over time may cause scratches. It is recommended to use a non-lemon detergent.
  • Stain Removal:
    • Calcium Stains: Multicolored stains from water's calcium content are harmless and can be removed with warm vinegar.
    • Food Residue: Light residue or cloudy appearance from foods like pasta or oatmeal can be easily removed with any non-abrasive cleaning product.
    • Burner Stains (Outside Bottom): Stains on the outside bottom (not sides) of pans can be removed with an oven cleaner. Follow the manufacturer's directions, applying the cleaner only to the outside bottom. If the directions call for a warm oven, heat the pan before application. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning. Perform this procedure under a hood with an exhaust fan or in a well-ventilated room due to detergent fumes.
  • Storage: A cookware rack or pegboard is recommended for convenient, safe storage. Stacking and crowding in cabinets or drawers may cause scratches.
  • Warranty: Lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship under normal home use. A hassle-free replacement warranty ensures repair or replacement at no cost if the cookware fails within the warranty period. Damage from accident, misuse, abuse (including overheating), scratches, stains, discoloration, or other external/internal surface damage that does not impair functional utility is excluded. Incidental and consequential damages are also excluded.
  • Warranty Service (U.S. and Canada): To obtain a return shipping label, email www.cuisinart.com/customer-care/product-return or call the Consumer Service Center toll-free at 1-800-726-0190.
  • Warranty Service (California Residents): California residents have the option to return nonconforming products to the store of purchase or another retail store selling Cuisinart products of the same type. The retail store will repair, refer to an independent repair facility, replace the product, or refund the purchase price (less prior usage). Alternatively, residents can return products directly to Cuisinart for repair or replacement by calling 1-800-726-0190 or emailing www.cuisinart.com/customer-care/product-return. Cuisinart will cover the cost of repair, replacement, and shipping/handling for nonconforming products under warranty.
