Summary

Important Safety Information

Main Technical Parameters

Working Principle and Main Structure

Installation and Adjustment

Gate Preparation

Ensure gate is properly installed and slides smoothly, plumb, level, and moves freely before installing the operator.

Conduit Installation

Use PVC conduit for wires, set into concrete when poured. Protect wires from rough or sharp parts.

Concrete Pad Requirements

Requires a concrete pad for stability, approx. 300x200x200mm deep, 70mm above finish grade. Ensure it doesn't interfere with the gate.

Anchor Installation

Use provided anchors, bolts, washers, nuts set in concrete, or wedge expansion bolts.

Operator Base Mounting

Mount the operator base to the concrete pad, ensuring it is leveled properly.

Operator Mounting

Mount the gate operator to the base using nuts and washers.

Rack Installation

Manually position gate, place pawls on rack, weld rack to gate, ensuring correct meshing with the gear.

Spring Limit Switch Adjustment

Install block, release clutch, manually position gate, screw block to rack, tighten clutch. Adjust block for proper opening/closing positions.

Manual Operation Procedure

Use release key for manual gate operation during power failure. Turn key counterclockwise to release clutch, pull lever.

Maintenance

Overview

This document outlines the installation, operation, and maintenance of a sliding gate operator, designed to automate the movement of sliding gates. The operator integrates an electric control board, a single-phase motor, and a worm gear mechanism to provide efficient and reliable gate automation.

Function Description

The sliding gate operator is an all-in-one multifunctional unit that automates the opening and closing of sliding gates. Its core mechanism involves a single-phase motor, a worm, and a worm gear. When the clutch is engaged, the motor's main shaft rotates the worm, which in turn rotates the worm gear and an output gear. This output gear then engages with a rack attached to the sliding gate, effectively pushing the gate to move. The system is designed to provide smooth and controlled gate movement, enhancing security and convenience for property owners.

Usage Features

The operator is designed with several features to ensure safe and convenient usage:

  • Automated Operation: The primary function is to automatically open and close sliding gates, eliminating the need for manual effort.
  • Emergency Release: In the event of a power failure, a manual release key is provided. This key allows users to disengage the clutch and operate the gate manually, ensuring access even without electricity. The process involves removing a cover, inserting the key, turning it counterclockwise to release the clutch, pulling a release lever, and then manually moving the gate. To re-engage, the lever is closed, and the key is turned clockwise.
  • Limit Switch Functionality: The system incorporates a spring limit switch mechanism. Blocks are installed on the gate rack, and by releasing the gear clutch with the key, the gate can be manually positioned. The blocks are then screwed to the rack, and the gear clutch is tightened. The gate's electrical movement allows for fine-tuning the block positions to achieve the desired opening and closing limits.
  • Safety Precautions: The manual emphasizes several safety measures. Users are warned against walking or driving through the gate while it is moving. Children should not be allowed to play near or operate automatic gates. The operator must be grounded, and it should always be installed on the inside of the property, away from public access. Caution is advised when near moving parts to prevent pinching of hands or fingers. Control devices should be placed out of reach from outside the gate. During testing, light objects are recommended to be placed in the gate's path to avoid damage to the motor or serious injury, rather than using body parts or heavy immovable objects.
  • Thermal Protection: The gate operator is equipped with a thermal protector. The motor is designed for intermittent operation, typically less than 15 minutes. If the motor runs continuously for an extended period and its temperature exceeds 120°C, the thermal protector will automatically switch off the motor. It will then switch back on when the temperature drops below 85°C, preventing overheating and potential damage.

Maintenance Features

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the sliding gate operator, regular maintenance is recommended:

  • Cleanliness: It is important to keep the operator clean at all times to prevent dirt and debris from affecting its functionality.
  • Grounding and Wiring Check: Before operating the device, it is crucial to check the power supply, grounding, and all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and correct.
  • Manual Movement Check: Periodically, the gear clutch should be released with the key to manually move the gate. This check helps determine if the gate can move freely without the operator, indicating proper installation and alignment. If any issues are found, the clutch should be tightened with the key after resolution.
  • Smooth Operation Verification: After switching on the power, the device should be run to confirm that the gate slides smoothly throughout its entire travel.
  • Limit Position Adjustment: The block positions for the limit switch should be adjusted as needed to ensure the gate opens and closes properly at the desired limited positions.
  • Lubrication: Regular greasing of the wheels and axles is essential. This lubrication helps ensure that the gate moves smoothly and reduces wear and tear on these critical components.
