Secure the top part to the bottom part of the Independence bed by threading the four (4) knob screws tted with spring
washers into the pre-drilled holes on both sides of the bed.

Open the shipping carton containing the top part of the bed and remove any smaller accessory boxes. Remove the
strap holding the mattress bed retainer from under the top part of the bed. NOTE: Take note of the mattress
retainer. You will use it later in the setup.
Cut the orange and white zip ties to remove the arm brackets that are tied to the bed during shipment.
Lift the top part on its side and turn it over carefully.
With two people holding the bed in the middle, lift it out of the shipping carton and place it over the bottom part of
the bed.
Setting up the top part of the bed
NOTES:
• Make sure the top part is aligned with the bottom part of the bed.
• The top and bottom parts have foot stickers (see red arrows below) to indicate the foot section of the bed. Make
sure the foot section of the top part of the bed aligns with the foot section of the bottom part.
• Make sure the holes on both parts (see black arrows below) align properly with each other.
• The top part of the Independence bed does not lock in place when it is installed the wrong way.
