Overview

This document describes the DAEWOO DWC-LD141X and DWD-LD141X washing machines, covering their functions, specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The DAEWOO washing machines are designed for efficient and convenient laundry care. Key features include:

  • Economic Wash System: Utilizes artificial intelligence to optimize water level and washing time, minimizing energy and water consumption.
  • Low Noise System: Reduces washing and spinning noises by sensing the laundry load and ensuring balance before spinning.
  • Child-Lock: Prevents children from accidentally changing programs during operation by locking the control panel.
  • Air Bubble Washing: An advanced technology that generates millions of air bubbles within the drum during the wash cycle. These bubbles effectively dissolve detergent particles and gently cleanse clothes, removing soil.
  • Self-Cleaning Course of Drum: A dedicated program for self-cleaning the drum, ensuring hygiene and optimal performance.
  • Digital Condensing Dry System (for dry models): Offers an energy-saving condensing dry system.

  5. Quick 20 Program:
    • Default settings: Cold wash temperature, 800 rpm spin.
    • Not all programs are selectable with Quick 20.
    • Maximum load: below 3kg.
    • Note: Actual washing time may exceed 20 minutes due to load weight, rinsing, spin dry, and balancing factors.
  6. Sports Wear Program:
    • Default settings: Cold wash temperature, 800 rpm spin.
    • Adjustable options: temperature (Cold, 30°C, 40°C).
  7. Tub Clean Program:

    • No other programs are selectable.

Other Useful Programs:

  • Delay Start (Reserved Washing): Allows setting a delay for the wash cycle to complete in 1 to 12 hours. Not available for Delicate, Quick 20, Tub Clean, and Drain programs. Adding clothes during Delay Start is not allowed.
  • Only Wash: Performs only the wash cycle with a selected wash course. Water temperature is automatically set to Cold.
  • Only Spin: Performs only the spin cycle with a selected spin condition. Water temperature is automatically set to Cold.
  • Dry (for DWC-LD141X): Selects dry condition (Cupboard, Very, Time, Low Temp, Iron). Requires cold water tap to be open. Do not use detergent or softener. After drying, a smoothing creases program runs for 30 minutes. Be cautious of high temperatures when removing clothes.
  • Rinse+Spin (for DWD-LD141X): Performs rinse and spin cycles. Default settings: 800 rpm spin, Cold water temperature. Water temperature selection is possible.

Preparing Clothes for Washing:

  • Remove pins, buckles, coins, and other hard objects to prevent damage to the drum and pump.
  • Close zippers, snaps, and hooks.
  • Empty pockets and turn them inside out.
  • Turn down cuffs and turn synthetic knits inside out to avoid pilling.
  • Tie strings and sashes to prevent tangling.
  • Treat spots and stains as needed.

Sorting Clothes:

  • Separate heavily soiled from lightly soiled items.
  • Separate dark colors from light colors, and colorfast from non-colorfast items.
  • Separate lint producers from lint collectors.

Loading Clothes:

  • Load items loosely for best cleaning and wrinkle-free results.
  • Avoid overloading, which can lead to poor cleaning, increased wrinkling, excessive lint, and faster wear.
  • Mix large and small items for balanced loads.
  • Reduce wash time for small loads.
  • Use a large load size for permanent press and synthetic knits to reduce wrinkling.

Adding Detergent:

  • Add detergent to the main wash and pre-wash compartments.
  • Add liquid fabric softener to the softener inlet, ensuring it does not exceed the maximum fill line to prevent early dispensing and staining.
  • Do not open the detergent case when water is being supplied.
  • Use the proper amount of detergent as recommended by the manufacturer to avoid excessive suds and motor overload, which can impair washing and rinsing performance.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning Your Washer:

  • Exterior: Wipe detergent, bleach, and other spills with a soft, damp cloth. Periodically wipe the exterior to keep it clean.
  • Interior: Clean with 250ml of chlorine bleach mixed with 500ml of detergent. Run a complete cycle and repeat if necessary.
  • Drum: Regularly remove foreign objects like pins, clips, coins, and bolts from pockets to prevent damage to the drum assembly and pump.

Cleaning the Water Inlet Filter:

  1. Unplug the power cord.
  2. Turn off the water supply and disconnect the inlet hose.
  3. Pull out the inlet filter.
  4. Remove dirt from the filter with a brush.

Cleaning the Drain Filter:

  • This filter screens foreign objects like threads, coins, pins, and buttons.
  • Clean regularly (every 10 uses) to prevent drain problems.
  1. Open the lower cover using a coin.
  2. Pull out the cap hose (approx. 13-14cm) and unplug it to drain water into a vessel.
  3. Once water stops flowing, turn the pump filter to the left to open.
  4. Remove foreign material from the pump filter.
  5. After cleaning, turn the pump filter clockwise and reinsert the cap hose. Close the lower cover.
  • Caution: Be careful when draining if the water is hot.

Cleaning the Detergent Case:

  • Detergent and fabric softener deposits should be cleaned regularly with running water.
  • The case can be removed by pressing the catch downwards and pulling it out.
  • The upper part of the fabric softener compartment can be removed for easier cleaning.
  • Clean any accumulated detergent inside the recess with a brush.
  • After cleaning, replace the case and run a rinse cycle without laundry.

Winter Storage or Moving Care:

  • Install and store the washer where it will not freeze.
  • To winterize:
    • Turn off the water faucet.
    • Disconnect and drain water inlet hoses.
    • Run the washer on a drain and spin setting for 1 minute.
    • Unplug the power supply cord.
  • To use again:
    • Flush water pipes and hoses.
    • Reconnect water inlet hoses.
    • Turn on the water faucet.
    • Reconnect the power supply cord.

Non-use or Vacation Care:

  • Operate the washer only when at home.
  • For extended periods of non-use or vacation:
    • Unplug the power supply cord or turn off electrical power.
    • Turn off the water supply to prevent accidental flooding due to water pressure surges.

Troubleshooting:

The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues:

  • Washer not operating: Check power, cord connection, power button, Start/Pause button, and laundry load.
  • Water not supplied (Error display IE): Check inlet hose connection, water tap, frozen hose/tap, water supply, and inlet hose filter.
  • Washer not draining (Error display OE): Check drain hose for freezing, kinks, deformation, immersion in water, and drain filter for dirt.
  • Washer not spinning (Error display UE): Check if clothes are collected on one side, if the washer is on an uneven floor, or if vibration is serious.
  • Washer stops during spinning / Insufficient spinning (Error display PFE): Check if the drain pump filter is clogged, if the drain pump is operating, detergent amount, and if the drain hose is placed higher than 1m.
  • Washer not operating (Error display LE): Check if the door is open, if anything is stuck in the door seal, or if clothes are hanging out.
  • Vibrating and too noisy: Check if the washer is on an uneven floor and if all transit bolts have been removed.
  • Normal operating sounds: The "wing" sound during water supply is normal.

For error modes (IE, OE, UE, PFE), turn off and on the power. For PFE, also press the SPIN button and then Start/Pause.
