Usage Features

The microwave oven offers a range of features for convenient cooking:

Controls: The control panel includes pads for setting time, power levels, and specific cooking functions. The display shows cooking time, power level, indicators, and the present time.

Setting the Clock: The oven has multiple clock systems (12-hour or 24-hour). To set, touch the "Clock" pad, then touch the "Clock" pad again for a 24-hour system (optional), enter the correct time using the time set pads, and touch "Clock" again.

Time Defrosting: This mode allows defrosting food for a specified duration. Touch the "Defrost" pad, enter the desired time using the time set pads (up to 59 minutes 90 seconds), and touch "START". The oven cycles on and off, beeping to signal when food needs turning.

Weight Defrosting (Auto Defrost): This feature automatically determines defrosting time based on food weight.

  • Meat: Touch "Meat" pad, select desired weight (500g, 800g, 1000g, 1200g), and touch "START".
  • Poultry: Touch "Poultry" pad, select desired weight (800g, 1000g, 1200g, 1500g), and touch "START".
  • Fish: Touch "Fish" pad, select desired weight (300g, 500g, 800g, 1000g), and touch "START". The oven beeps during the cycle to prompt turning/rearranging.

Cooking in One Stage: To cook at a specific power level and time: Touch "Power" pad (multiple times for desired level), enter cooking time (up to 59 minutes 90 seconds) using time set pads, and touch "START". If power level and time are omitted, the oven cooks at full power. Lower power levels are recommended for delicate foods like cheese, milk, and slow-cooked meats.

Cooking in Two Stages (Defrost then Cook): This allows automatic defrosting before cooking. Touch "Defrost" pad, enter defrosting time, touch "Power" pad (multiple times for desired level), enter cooking time, and touch "START". The oven will first defrost, then automatically switch to microwave cooking.

Kitchen Timer Mode: The timer can be used as a minute timer, to delay cooking, or to set a holding time after cooking. It operates without microwave energy.

  • As a Minute Timer: Touch "Kitchen Timer" pad, enter desired time, and touch "START".
  • To Delay Start of Cooking: Touch "Kitchen Timer" pad, enter delay time, program desired power level and cooking time, and touch "START".
  • To Set a Holding Time: Program desired cooking time, touch "Kitchen Timer" pad, enter holding time, and touch "START".

Speedy Cook: Allows reheating for 30 seconds at 100% power by touching the "SPEEDY COOK" pad. Repeated touches extend reheating time by 30-second increments, up to 5 minutes.

One Touch Cooking: Pre-programmed settings for specific foods. Touch the relevant pad once for a single serving/quantity, or multiple times within 1.5 seconds for increased quantities.

  • Pasta: 1 serving (touch once), 2 servings (touch twice). Place in deep casserole with double water, cover, stir after cooking, and let stand.
  • Frozen Pizza: 200g (touch once), 400g (touch twice). Use only one frozen pizza at a time, specifically made for microwave ovens.
  • Beverage (200ml/cup): 1 cup (touch once), 2 cups (touch twice), 3 cups (touch three times).
  • Dish Warmer: 350g (touch once), 450g (touch twice). Place food on microwave plate and cover with vented plastic wrap.
  • Fresh Vegetable: 200g (touch once), 400g (touch twice).
  • Frozen Vegetable: 200g (touch once), 400g (touch twice).

Less, More: During one-touch cooking or regular cooking (except defrosting), "LESS" or "MORE" pads can be used to decrease/increase cooking time in multiples of 10 seconds (for one-touch) or 1 minute (for regular cooking), up to a maximum of 59 minutes.

Child Safety Lock: To prevent unintended operation, press and hold "STOP/CLEAR" for 3 seconds. The "LOCK" indicator lights up. To cancel, press and hold "STOP/CLEAR" for 3 seconds again.

Stopping Operation: To stop the oven during operation, press "STOP/CLEAR" (can restart by touching "START") or open the door (retains settings, restart by closing door and touching "START"). Touching "STOP/CLEAR" twice erases all instructions.

Cooking Utensils:

  • Suitable: Glass or ceramic heat-proof dishes, china dishes (without metal trim), most heat-resistant plastic dinnerware, wax paper (as a cover).
  • Limited Use: Wood or straw (short periods only, may dry out and crack), aluminum foil (very small pieces for shielding, keep >2.5cm from walls).
  • Unsuitable: Dishes with metal trim (causes sparking), polyethylene, melamine, phenol plastics (become hot), metal utensils (generally).

Maintenance Features

Care and Cleaning:

  • Safety Interlocks: Do not defeat or tamper with safety interlocks.
  • Sealing Surfaces: Do not place objects between the oven front face and door. Clean sealing areas frequently with a mild detergent, rinse, and dry. Avoid abrasive powders or pads.
  • Door: Do not subject the opened door to strain. If the door is damaged (bent, broken hinges/latches, damaged seals), do not operate the oven until repaired by a trained service technician. Ensure the door closes properly.
  • Waveguide Cover: Keep clean at all times. Wipe the oven interior with a soft damp cloth after each use. Grease or fat accumulation can lead to overheating, smoke, or fire.
  • Service: Adjustments or repairs should only be performed by a properly trained service technician.

Before You Call For Service (Troubleshooting):

  • Oven not working: Check power cord, door closure, cooking time setting, and circuit fuse/breaker.
  • Sparking in cavity: Check for metal utensils or dishes with metal trim, and ensure metal skewers or foil do not touch interior walls.

Questions and Answers:

  • Running empty: Short periods won't damage, but not recommended.
  • Glass tray/roller guide removal: Both must always be in place during cooking.
  • Opening door during operation: Oven instantly switches off, time setting maintained. Close door and touch "START" to resume.
  • Moisture in oven: Normal, caused by steam hitting cool surfaces.
  • Microwave energy through viewing screen: No, metal screen bounces energy back into cavity. Holes allow light, not microwaves, to pass.
