This document serves as a Quick Start Guide for the EZ-IP Outdoor Dome Network Camera, version V1.0.0, released on May 20, 2018. It provides essential information regarding the camera's functions, installation, and operation.
Function Description:
The EZ-IP Outdoor Dome Network Camera is designed for surveillance applications, capable of connecting to a network via an Ethernet port and receiving power through Power over Ethernet (PoE) on select models, or a 12V DC power input. The device supports network configuration through a "ConfigTool" or a web interface, allowing for device initialization, IP address modification, and access to the live view, PTZ controls, playback, and setup options. It is suitable for various installation types including ceiling-mounted, hang-mounted, pole-mounted, and wall-mounted configurations. The camera also features an optional SD card slot for local storage and a reset button for system restoration.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Power Input: 12V DC or Power over Ethernet (PoE) on select models.
- Network Connectivity: Ethernet port.
- Default IP Address (for initialization): 192.168.1.108.
- Password Requirements: 8 to 32 characters, a combination of at least two kinds of letters, numbers, and symbols (excluding "&").
- Dimensions: Approximately Ø122.0 mm (4.8") in diameter, Ø110.0 mm (4.33") for the mounting base, and mounting holes with a diameter of Ø4.5 mm (Ø0.18").
- Image Sensor: Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS).
- Environmental Operating Range: Specific humidity and temperature ranges are required for transport, use, and storage.
- Mounting Surface Strength: Must be strong enough to hold at least three times the device weight.
Usage Features:
- Network Configuration: The device can be initialized and its IP address configured using the "ConfigTool" software or through a web interface. Initialization is required for first-time use or after a device reset.
- IP Address Modification: Users can modify the IP address of one or multiple devices simultaneously, provided they share the same login password. Both static and DHCP modes are supported.
- Web Interface Access: The camera's functions can be accessed via an IE browser by entering the device's IP address. A plugin download and installation may be required for first-time login.
- Installation Flexibility: Supports multiple installation methods including ceiling-mounted, hang-mounted, pole-mounted, and wall-mounted, catering to diverse deployment scenarios.
- SD Card Support: An optional SD card can be installed for local data storage.
- Adjustable Lens Angle: The lens angle can be adjusted without the need to loosen screws, simplifying aiming and field-of-view adjustments.
- Reset Functionality: A reset button is available for restoring the device to its default settings.
Maintenance Features:
- Firmware Updates: Users are advised to upgrade firmware to the latest version to enhance network and device data protection, especially for older firmware versions where the ONVIF password might not automatically update with the system password.
- Cleaning: The device body can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth, or with a mild detergent for stubborn stains. Volatile solvents (alcohol, benzene, diluent) and strong abrasive detergents should be avoided. The dome cover, an optical component, should be cleaned gently with moist oil-free cotton with diethyl or a moist soft cloth, or with an air blower to remove dust.
- Desiccant Replacement: If condensed fog is found on the lens or if the desiccant turns green (for models that include one), after-sale service should be contacted for desiccant replacement.
- Lightning Protection: It is recommended to use the device with a lightning arrester to improve lightning protection.
- Grounding: Grounding the device is recommended to enhance reliability.
- Privacy Protection: Users are responsible for complying with local privacy protection laws, including providing clear identification of surveillance areas and contact information.
- Security Measures: Users are encouraged to strengthen network, device data, and personal information protection by using strong passwords, modifying them regularly, upgrading firmware, and isolating the computer network.
- Professional Installation: The device should be installed and maintained by professional engineers using standard components and accessories provided by the manufacturer.
- Environmental Care: Avoid aiming the device at strong lights, placing it in damp, dusty, extremely hot or cold environments, or locations with strong electromagnetic radiation or unstable lighting. Keep it away from liquids and ensure good ventilation. Transport, use, and store within allowed humidity and temperature ranges.
- Waterproofing: All cable joints should be waterproofed with insulating tape and waterproof tape, especially when using the optional waterproof connector for outdoor installations, to prevent short circuits and water damage.
