1.8 INTELLIGENT EYE
This function detects movement in the room by a motion sensor (INTELLIGENT EYE), reducing
capacity when the room is empty in order to save electricity.
Processing 1. Detection method by INTELLIGENT EYE
This sensor detects human motion by receiving infrared rays and displays the pulse wave
output.
A microcomputer in the indoor unit carries out a sampling every 20 msec. and if it detects 10
cycles of the wave in one second in total (corresponding to 20msec. 10 = 200msec.), it
determines that there is movement in the room as the motion signal is ON.
2. The motions (for example: in cooling)
When a microcomputer does not have a signal from the sensor in 20 minutes, it detects that
nobody is in the room and operates the unit at a temperature shifted 3.6°F(2°C) from the set
temperature. (COOL : 3.6°F(2°C) higher, DRY: 1.8°F(1°C) higher, AUTO : according to the
operation mode at that time.)
