Overview

The DanVex DEH-900i and DEH-1200i are dehumidifiers designed for automated and trouble-free air dehumidification, operating on the condensation principle. They are equipped with a closed-loop cooling system, a low-noise and low-maintenance fan, and a power cable with a plug. The units feature an LCD display on the control panel for system functional checks. A fully automated control system, a regulated humidistat, and an integrated overflow system with direct condensation discharge through a flexible hose connection ensure fail-safe and long-term operation. These units comply with fundamental safety and health requirements of existing EU regulations and are designed for easy and safe operation.

Function Description:

The dehumidifier operates by drawing moist air through an air intake grill located at the front, which is equipped with an air filter. The air then flows through an evaporator and condenser located within the dehumidifier body. As the air passes through the "cold" evaporator, it is cooled below its dew point. The water vapor contained in the air deposits as condensate or frost on the evaporator fins. The dried and cooled air then passes through a "warm" condenser, where it is heated before being discharged. The air temperature at the outlet is typically about 5 degrees Celsius higher than at the inlet. This dried air mixes with the surrounding air, gradually reducing the relative humidity to the set RH value through continuous air circulation.

The condensed water can be discharged continuously or during defrosting stages. It can be collected in a detachable internal tank or directly drained into a wastewater disposal system. When using the internal tank, the dehumidifier will switch off when the tank is full, indicated by the "FULL" light on the control panel. To resume operation, the tank must be emptied and reinstalled. For continuous operation without interruptions, the filling hose inside the dehumidifier can be connected to the internal part of a connector on the side wall, and an external hose for condensate discharge can be connected to the external part of this connector, bypassing the internal tank.

The dehumidifiers are primarily used in buildings where dry air is essential for technological processes, human comfort, and to prevent financial losses due to goods and product damage (e.g., mould formation). They are suitable for drying and dehumidifying industrial buildings, storage rooms, cellars, archives, laboratories, laundries, and changing rooms.

Important Technical Specifications (for DEH-900i / DEH-1200i):

  • Operational Temperature Range: 5-32 °C
  • Operational Humidity Range: 40-95 % RH
  • Dehumidification (at 30 °C / 80% RH): 90 l/day / 120 l/day
  • Air Capacity: 1000 m³/hour / 1150 m³/hour
  • Internal Condensate Tank Capacity: 14 liters
  • Cooling Agent: R407c/R22
  • Power: ~230 V
  • Frequency: 50 Hz
  • Rated Consumption: 1.47 kW / 1.86 kW
  • Sound Pressure: 64 dB (A)
  • Dimensions (Depth x Width x Height): 514 mm x 633 mm x 940 mm
  • Gross Weight: 52 kg / 57 kg

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Features an LCD display, ON/OFF button, TIMER button, HUMIDITY UP (+) button, and HUMIDITY DOWN (-) button.
  • Operation:
    1. Energize the power; the dehumidifier beeps once.
    2. Press "On/Off" to light up the LCD display, showing current environment humidity.
    3. Set desired humidity using "+" and "-" buttons. The dehumidifier works when set humidity is 3% less than current humidity and stops when 3% more.
    4. If set humidity is less than 30%, it enters continuous dehumidification mode.
    5. Preset Time: Press "Time" button to set auto start or stop times. First press flashes "hour" for adjustment, second press flashes "Start-up time", third press flashes "Stop time", fourth press cancels preset time mode.
    6. After setting preset time, the dehumidifier operates according to the programmed schedule, even if shut off or in operation.
  • Low Temperature Operation: Efficient operation is not guaranteed if room temperature is below 10 °C or relative humidity is below 40%. The unit automatically detects low temperature and initiates defrosting, indicated by a light.
  • Compressor Delay: The compressor can only be stopped after at least 3 minutes of operation and can only be restarted 3 minutes after stopping.
  • Auto Memory: The system stores current settings in case of power cut or disconnection and resumes operation automatically when power is restored.
  • Humidity Range: Adjustable from 20% to 90%.
  • Continuous Dehumidification: If the humidity sensor fails (E2 code), the system enters continuous dehumidification.
  • Temperature Sensor Failure: If the temperature sensor fails (E1 code), the system operates in a cycle of 30 minutes dehumidification and 15 minutes defrosting.

Maintenance Features:

  • Installation: Must be installed securely upright to ensure proper condensate discharge. Ideally placed in the center of a long wall for optimal air circulation. Ensure free airflow at the front intake and rear discharge grill. Avoid proximity to radiators or other heat sources. The room should be closed to prevent air exchange with neighboring rooms or outside.
  • Air Filter: Dust on the air purification filter mesh can impair effectiveness. Clean regularly, at least once a month, or more frequently in dusty environments (weekly or daily). To clean, pull down the front panel, tap the filter mesh, use a vacuum cleaner, or wash in warm water (≤40°C) with neutral soap, brush, and rinse with clear water. Avoid direct sunlight or baking to prevent deformation.
  • Transportation: The unit must only be transported in a vertical position. Condensate containers must be drained prior to transportation.
  • Storage: If stored for a long time, unload the power cord. Keep the air purification filter mesh in a plastic bag and save hermetically.
  • Safety:
    • Do not connect relays, extension cords, or adaptors.
    • Avoid placing near heat-generating equipment.
    • For indoor use only; avoid direct sunlight, wind, or rain exposure.
    • In case of abnormality (e.g., burnt smell), shut off and unplug immediately.
    • Do not use in places exposed to chemicals.
    • Do not repair, disassemble, or alter the machine without authorization.
    • Place on firm, level surfaces to prevent tipping and water leakage.
    • Ensure drain pipe is appropriately placed for smooth drainage; avoid continuous water drain if icing is possible around the pipe.
    • Do not use in places exposed to water to prevent creepage, fire, or electric shock.
    • Do not damage, alter, place heavy objects on, heat up, or forcefully pull the power cord.
    • Connect the power cord firmly to the switch.
    • Do not stop operation by pulling out the power cord.
  • Electrical Connections: Must comply with DIN VDE 0100, Part 704. In humid premises, proper automatic circuit-breakers are required at the buyer's expense. Only authorized personnel are permitted to perform works on cooling and electrical systems.

Warranty Obligations:

DanVex warrants all equipment parts for 12 months from the date of delivery, covering defects in workmanship and materials. Wearable parts like filters are not covered. Repairs or replacements during the warranty period do not extend the warranty period. Replaced parts belong to DanVex. Warranty claims require inspection of defective parts and adherence to manufacturer's installation, operation, and maintenance recommendations, using only original parts and materials.
