Installation Steps Part 1

Step 1: Nutsert Tool Adjustment

Adjust the nutsert tool to ensure 3/4 inch gap from washer to bolt head.

Step 2: Nutsert Installation

Install nutsert using M5 Allen wrench and 10mm wrench at tailgate pivot.

Step 3: Ball Mount Installation

Apply thread lock to ball mount, install into nutsert, and torque to 8 ft-lbs.

Installation Steps Part 2

Step 4: Remove Cable Bolt

Use T45 Torx wrench to remove cable bolt and detach tailgate cable.

Step 5: Install Ball Mount Plate

Insert removed bolt through ball mount plate hole and tighten with T45.

Step 6: Attach Shock to Ball Mount

Connect cable back to bolt and attach shock's larger end to ball mount.

Step 7: Attach Shock to Ball Mount Narrow End

Install the narrow end of the shock onto the ball mount.

Step 8: Remove Motion Limiter

Remove other end of tailgate cable and motion limiter.

Step 9: Install Cable Clip

Measure 3.5" from top of cable and press clip on with pliers.
