Why do my Defiant Security System lights stay on?
    • K
      kgonzalezAug 5, 2025
If your Defiant Security System lights stay on continuously, there might be several reasons. First, a bulb might be too close to the motion sensor or pointed at objects that reflect heat. Try repositioning the bulb. Second, the motion sensor could be picking up a heat source like an air vent. You can decrease the “RANGE” setting or reposition the sensor. Also, check if the sensor is in manual mode and switch it to auto. Ensure the light fixture isn't wired through a dimmer or timer; if it is, replace them with a standard on/off switch. Finally, the light fixture should be on a circuit without motors, transformers, or fluorescent bulbs.

What to do if Defiant Security System lights flash on and off?
    • J
      jesus87Aug 21, 2025
If the lights on your Defiant Security System are flashing on and off, the heat or light from the bulbs may be turning the motion sensor on and off. Try repositioning the bulbs away from the motion sensor. Alternatively, heat reflected from other objects might be the cause; repositioning the motion sensor might help. If the motion sensor is in “TEST” mode, this flashing is normal. Light leaking through bulb reflectors can also cause this issue, so consider replacing the bulbs with new, high-quality PAR 38 bulbs. Also, if the motion sensor is in AlertFlash (“FLASH”) mode, flashing is normal; select Security (“NORMAL”) or BulbSaver (“SOFT”) mode to turn flashing off. Lastly, ensure that if you are using a CFL bulb, it is a dimmable type.
