Troubleshooting the SMI-S Provider 17
On SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
platform, the CLI commands from
Pegasus/bin directory (like cimcli,
cimserver) fails and the following error is
displayed:
Error while loading shared
libraries: libpegclient.so.1:
cannot open shared object
file: No such file or
directory
Set the environment variables
LD_LIBRARY_PATH and
PEGASUS_HOME in the command line
shell to point to the Pegasus libraries and
Pegasus directory respectively.
For example, with default installation of
SMI-S Provider, you can set this variable
as follows:
set LD_LIBRARY_PATH=
/opt/dell/pegasus/lib
set PEGASUS_HOME=
/opt/dell/pegasus
On SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, the
CIM server fails to start during
installation and the following error is
displayed:
Unable to start CIMServer.
CIMServer is already running.
CIMServer start failed.
This issue occurs during the previous
uninstall step of the provider; the
CIMServer could not be stopped
successfully.
This happens when the
PEGASUS_HOME and
LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment
variables are not set correctly during the
uninstall process. To start the CIM server
after the install, set the
LD_LIBRARY_PATH and
PEGASUS_HOME environment
variables, then stop and start the CIM
server.
