electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
6. Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.
7. If this unit is to be installed over a tub or shower, it
must be marked as appropriate for the application and
be connected to a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter) – protected branch circuit.
8. Do not use this unit with any other solid-state control
device. Solid-state controls devices may cause harmonic
distortion, which can cause a motor humming noise.
9. NEVER place a switch where it can be reached from a
tub or shower.
10. Not to be installed in a ceiling thermally insulated to a
value greater than R40. (This is required for installation

Overview

The Delta Breez Integrity ITG80 is a ceiling/wall ventilation fan designed for general ventilating use in residential settings. It is specifically designed to exhaust air and maintain proper ventilation, contributing to a healthier indoor environment. The fan is UL listed for use over a bathtub or shower when installed in a GFCI protected branch circuit, making it suitable for high-humidity areas. However, it is explicitly stated that the fan is not to be used in cooking areas or to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors. It is also not recommended for installation in a ceiling thermally insulated to a value greater than R40 (required for installation in Canada only).

Function Description:

The primary function of the ITG80 is to move air from inside a room to the outdoors, helping to reduce humidity, odors, and airborne pollutants. It operates as a single-speed fan, controlled by a simple ON/OFF power switch. The fan is designed for ducted installation, requiring connection to a 4-inch circular duct that vents to the outdoors. Proper ducting is crucial for optimal performance, with recommendations for the shortest, straightest duct routing possible to minimize airflow resistance, noise, and energy consumption. Insulation around the ducts is also suggested to reduce energy loss and inhibit mold growth.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Number: ITG80
  • Voltage: 120V AC
  • Frequency: 60Hz
  • Power Consumption: 12W
  • Air Flow: 80 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) at 0.1 SP (Static Pressure)
  • Weight: 4.0 lbs
  • Speed: Single Speed
  • Installation Dimensions: 7.5 x 7.25 inches
  • Duct Size: 4-inch circular duct
  • Installation Height: Must be installed at least 8.2 feet (2.5m) above the floor.

Usage Features:

  • Single-Speed Operation: The ITG80 offers straightforward operation with a single speed setting, controlled by a standard ON/OFF wall switch.
  • Versatile Installation: It can be installed in both ceilings and walls, providing flexibility for different room layouts. The manual provides detailed instructions for both new installations (prior to finishing the ceiling) and replacement installations in existing ceilings.
  • Bathroom/Shower Compatibility: The fan's UL listing for use over bathtubs or showers (when GFCI protected) makes it a suitable choice for ventilating bathrooms and preventing moisture buildup.
  • Ducting Recommendations: The manual emphasizes the importance of proper ducting for optimal performance. It recommends using a 4-inch circular duct and avoiding configurations with too many elbows or sharp turns, as these can significantly reduce airflow and increase noise. A short piece of flexible duct is suggested to help with alignment and absorb sound.
  • Safety Guidelines: The device includes comprehensive safety guidelines, such as disconnecting power before servicing, following local electrical codes, and ensuring proper grounding. It also warns against installing the unit where ducts are configured in a way that restricts airflow or creates excessive back pressure.

Maintenance Features:

  • Routine Maintenance: The manual recommends routine maintenance annually to ensure the fan's longevity and optimal performance.
  • Easy Grille Removal: The grille can be easily removed by pulling down on its springs, simplifying the cleaning process.
  • Cleaning Instructions:
    • The grille should be washed and cleaned with a non-abrasive kitchen detergent and wiped dry with a new cloth.
    • Dust and dirt can be removed from the ventilating fan using a vacuum cleaner.
    • The fan's interior can be cleaned with a cloth dampened with kitchen detergent, followed by wiping dry with a new cloth.
  • Cleaning Precautions:
    • Never use gasoline, benzene, thinner, or other harsh chemicals for cleaning.
    • Do not allow water to enter the motor.
    • Do not soak resin parts in water over 60°C (140°F).
  • Power Disconnection: Users are instructed to disconnect the power source before performing any maintenance work to prevent electrical shock.

Warranty Information:

Delta Electronics Inc. provides a three-year limited warranty to the original consumer purchaser in the USA and Canada, covering defects in material and workmanship. The warranty does not cover labor charges, indirect damages, or issues arising from improper installation, misuse, or neglect. To qualify for warranty service, customers must notify Delta Electronics at the provided address or telephone number.
