Important Technical Specifications:

  • Models Covered: 3DANC18K, 3DANC24K, 3DANCH18K, 3DANCH24K. The "H" in the model number indicates heating capability.
  • Electrical Requirements:
    • 20AMP-230Volt: For models 3DANC24K, 3DANCH18K, 3DANCH24K. Requires a 230/208-volt AC, protected with a time-delay fuse or circuit breaker, on its own single branch circuit.
    • 15AMP-230Volt: For model 3DANC18K. Requires a 230/208-volt AC, protected with a time-delay fuse or circuit breaker, on its own single branch circuit.
    • All models require a 3-prong grounding plug.
  • Refrigerant: The unit contains flammable refrigerant, necessitating specific safety precautions during handling, installation, and servicing.
  • Operating Temperature Range:
    • Indoor: Minimum 64°F, Maximum 86°F.
    • Outdoor: Minimum 32°F, Maximum 110°F.
  • Power Cord: Equipped with a current interrupter device with TEST and RESET buttons.
  • Window Requirements: Designed for standard double-hung windows. Specific minimum width (19 1/8") and maximum width (30"-42") are provided for models 3DANC18K, 3DANC24K, 3DANCH18K, 3DANCH24K.
  • Batteries: The remote control uses 2 AAA batteries (included).

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel & Remote Control: The unit can be controlled using touchpads on the air conditioner's control panel or a dedicated remote control. Lights below the touchpads indicate selected settings.
  • Power On/Off: A "Power" pad turns the unit on and off.
  • Temperature Control:
    • "Temp and Delay Increase +" / "Decrease –" pads adjust the set temperature or delay time.
    • Temperature can be set in Cool, ECO, or Heat mode.
    • Range: 64°F to 86°F in 1°F increments.
  • Modes:
    • Cool Mode: Provides cooling. Can be set with Auto, High, Med, or Low fan speeds.
    • Fan Only Mode: Circulates and filters air without cooling. Fan speed can be set to High, Med, or Low. No temperature setting is entered in this mode.
    • Eco Mode: Controls the fan to cycle on and off with the compressor, potentially leading to wider room temperature variations. An "OFF" setting allows the fan to run continuously while the compressor cycles.
    • Heat Mode: (Available on 3DANCH18K & 3DANCH24K models only) Provides heating. Can be set with Auto, High, Med, or Low fan speeds.
  • Fan Speed Control: "Fan Speed" pad allows selection of Auto, Low, Med, or High fan speeds in Cool, ECO, or Heat modes, and High, Med, or Low in Fan Only mode.

    • Clean with warm, soapy water, rinse, and air dry. Do not use a dishwasher.
    • Can also be vacuumed with a hose adapter.
    • Operating without a filter is cautioned against as it reduces performance.
  • Outdoor Coils: Should be checked regularly for dirt/soot. Professional cleaning may be required. Coils can be cleaned with water or special dissolvent for copper coils.
  • Drain Plug: The unit is equipped with a slinger blade to scoop water from the drain pan onto the coils for better efficiency. Water may collect in the base pan during high humidity and drip outside. The drain plug can be removed for quicker drainage, but this may reduce cooling and energy efficiency. Drilling holes in the unit is strictly prohibited as it voids warranty and can cause damage.
  • Battery Replacement: Slide down the back cover of the remote control, insert 2 AAA batteries matching polarity, and slide the cover back up. Remove batteries from packaging before use.
  • Power Cord Test/Reset: The power cord's current interrupter device should be tested periodically by pressing TEST, then RESET. Discontinue use if it malfunctions.

Safety Information:

  • General Safety: Use only for intended purpose. Proper installation is crucial. Never unplug by pulling the cord; always grip the plug firmly. Replace frayed/damaged power cords immediately. Unplug before cleaning. Do not store or use combustible materials near the unit. Receptacle must match the plug; consult a qualified electrician if needed.
  • Flammable Refrigerant Warning: Contains flammable refrigerant. Do not use means to accelerate defrosting or cleaning other than manufacturer-recommended methods. Do not store in rooms with continuously operating ignition sources. Do not pierce or burn refrigerant tubing. Keep ventilation openings clear. Handle with care to avoid damaging refrigerant tubing. Do not drill holes. Maintenance/cleaning/service must be performed by trained technicians qualified in flammable refrigerants. Dispose of the unit according to Federal and Local Regulations.
  • Extension Cords: DO NOT use extension cords, surge protectors, or multi-outlet adapters with this air conditioner.
  • Grounding: Do not cut or remove the third (ground) prong. Do not use adapter plugs. Ensure the wall outlet is properly grounded by a qualified electrician. The unit should be plugged into its own individual electrical outlet with a matching voltage rating.
  • Chemical Burn Hazard (Batteries): Keep batteries away from children. Swallowed batteries can cause severe internal burns and death. Secure battery compartment. Seek immediate medical attention if batteries are swallowed. Dispose of batteries properly.
  • Prohibited Installation: DO NOT install this window air conditioner inside a wall sleeve or through a wall. This voids the warranty and can cause operational failure, airflow obstruction, water leakage, and electrical hazards. Ensure all air vents are unobstructed.
