The DeVilbiss DAD-500 (130026) Desiccant Air Drying System is a point-of-use system designed to remove dirt, water, oil, and water vapor from compressed air. It comprises a filter separator, coalescing filter, desiccant dryer, air regulator, and a main air supply shut-off valve.
The DAD-500 system ensures clean and dry air for various applications. It operates in stages:
Shipping Weight: DAD-500 = 35 lbs.
The DAD-500 is designed for easy installation and operation. It should be installed as close as possible to the point of use, with air flow directed as indicated by arrows on the filters. Minimum 1/2" NPT piping is recommended to avoid restricting air flow. The system includes vinyl tubing for automatic drains, which should be placed into appropriate receptacles to prevent kinking. The air regulator allows for precise pressure adjustment. Users are warned against using the product with hazardous gases or liquids other than compressed air, as this constitutes a misapplication and voids the warranty. Sudden depressurization cycles exceeding 20 PSIG should be avoided, as they can damage pressure gauges, filters, and cause desiccant "dusting." To mitigate this, a "slow closing solenoid valve" or an air adjusting valve at the solenoids outlet can be installed.
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity.
Before any maintenance, always ensure the main air supply shut-off valve is closed and all residual air pressure is bled from the system.
