DeWALT will repair or replace, without charge, any defects
due to faulty materials or workmanship for three years
from the date of purchase (two years for batteries). This
warranty does not cover part failure due to normal wear

WARNING: Never operate appliance without guard
firmly inplace.
1. Remove the spool housing as described in the Replacing
Spool Assemblysection.
2. Remove the two guard screws

shown in Fig.L.
3. Lift the guard off at an angle as shown in Fig.L.
4. To attached a new guard, slide the tab

guard under the lip

of the motor housing

lower the back of the guard into place as shown in Fig.A.
5. Replace and securely tighten the two guard screws

6. Replace the spool housing as described in the Replacing
