  If the flame effect on your Dimplex Indoor Fireplace has too much smoke, it might be because the flame effect setting is too high. Try turning the flame effect control knob ‘D’ to the right, about ¼ of a turn at a time, and then allow the flame generator some time to adjust to the new setting.

  If the flame effect on your Dimplex Indoor Fireplace won't start, there could be several reasons. First, ensure the mains plug is correctly plugged into the wall socket. Next, check that the water tank is full and there is water in the sump. Also, make sure the low voltage connector is properly connected and that the transducer unit is correctly seated in the sump's molded recess. Finally, if you're using distilled water, try using tapped, decalcified water initially.

Refill the water tank following the instructions under Maintenance, ‘Filling the water tank’. Also, check that the plug is correctly connected to the wall socket and that Switch ‘A’ is in the ‘ON’ ( I ) position.

How to increase flame effect on Dimplex VERDI VER20?

  If the flame effect is too low on your Dimplex Indoor Fireplace, first, check the flame effect control knob. Increase the flame level by slowly turning control knob ‘D’ to the left. Additionally, the metal disc in the transducer might be dirty, so clean it with the soft brush supplied. Ensure the wire from the Transducer Unit is directed to the back of the sump, sitting in the side slot exiting the sump. If it's a new setup, allow the fireplace to warm up to room temperature to avoid low mist at start up.

  An unpleasant smell from your Dimplex Indoor Fireplace could be due to dirty or stale water. Clean the unit as described under maintenance. Also, ensure you are using only filtered tap water, as unfiltered tap water can also cause this issue.
