Why is my Dirt Devil Steam Cleaner not producing steam?

  If the steam ready light is on but your Dirt Devil Steam Cleaner isn't producing steam, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, the overheating protection device may have tripped because the water tank is empty – try filling the water tank. Alternatively, the water tank or heating elements might be calcified. To decalcify, fill the water tank with cold water and biological decalcifier, direct the nozzle into a heat-resistant container, and let the solution run through for about 5 minutes. Wait another 5 minutes, and repeat this process three times before disposing of the remaining solution.

  If you notice less steam escaping from your Dirt Devil Steam Cleaner than before, it could be due to calcified steam channels. Decalcify the appliance. Also, the nozzles might be clogged by limescale. Try cleaning them, for example, by using the cleaning needle (if available).

  If you're having trouble opening the water tank cap on your Dirt Devil Steam Cleaner after it has cooled down, it's likely that the pressure inside the water tank is still too high, or the safety valve in the cap is stuck. Try pressing the steam button again to release any remaining steam. If that doesn't work, use a sharp object, like a pen, to press the red pin in the water tank cap to release it.
