Measure flatness of the intake/exhaust manifolds fitting surfaces on the cylinder head usinga straight edge
and a feeler gauge.
4) hydraulic test

Hydraulic test method for the cylinder head is same as that for cylinder block.
3.2.3. Valve and valve guide
1) Valve
Clean the valves with clean diesel oil, then inspect them as follows :

Valve stem outer diameter
Measure the valve stem outer diameter at 3
positions. (top, middle, and bottom) If the
amount of wear is beyond the limit, replace the
valve.
z
Valve seat contacting faces
Check the valve seat contacting faces for
scratches or wear, and correct the faces with
grinding paper as necessary. Replace if
severely damaged.
z
Valve head thickness
Measure the valve head thickness, and replace
the valve if the measured value is beyond the limit.
