Do you have a question about the Doxmand VR1 and is the answer not in the manual?
The Doxmand VR1 is an ultrasonic wild animal repellent designed primarily for agricultural use to deter wild animals. It generates variable ultrasonic sounds to create an unpleasant environment for animals, encouraging them to move to other areas and reducing crop damage. The device does not cause harm or death to animals, distinguishing it from other repellent methods.
The device emits ultrasonic sounds in a wide frequency range, primarily between 18 kHz and 28 kHz. Some cycles of the alarm may be audible to the human ear, especially in "Normal mode," which is recommended for optimal effectiveness. The sophisticated hearing of large game animals is disturbed by these frequencies. The device is designed to have a denser alarm period at night when wild animal activity is higher, and occasionally generates sounds in the human audible range to increase efficiency.
The Doxmand VR1 operates on solar power, making it self-sufficient. It features a Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3500 mAh (3.6 V), charged by a 2W monocrystalline solar panel. The device can also be charged via an external power source (5-14 V), such as a 12 V car battery or a 5V phone adapter.
The device has two operating modes:
The device provides feedback on its battery charge level through beeps when turned on:
When connected to an external charging unit, the device provides feedback:

Proper placement is crucial for effective operation. The device should be positioned on a grounded column or stake, ensuring the solar cell is always exposed to sunlight and that sound propagation is unobstructed. The included steel corner bracket can be used to stabilize the device on a column, pole, or tree. The solar panel should be fixed with cable ties and ideally turned towards the south for maximum efficiency.
The installation height depends on the crop height; the device should be placed at least 50 cm above the crop level and 1-1.5 meters above the ground to prevent vegetation from obstructing sound propagation.
The device emits sound in a 120-degree angle from the speakers in opposite directions. For larger areas or increased effectiveness, multiple devices can be installed with an overlap, maintaining a maximum distance of 150 meters between units. In striped arrangements, protecting the central part of the area may not be necessary.
To switch between Normal and Silent modes, turn on the device (it defaults to Normal mode). To switch to Silent mode, press the button twice. To return to Normal mode, press the button twice again. The device memorizes the last setting.
The device should not be immersed in water. Do not use strong detergents or abrasive cleaners. Clean the device with a soft, damp cloth. Over time, the solar panel may whiten or accumulate limescale, which can hinder proper power supply. Regularly wipe and clean the solar panel with WD-40 or an anti-limescale detergent.
When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place between (-)20 and (+)25 °C. Always turn off the device when not in use or in a closed environment.
The device's Li-ion battery is protected against over-discharge. If the battery voltage drops below a safe level, the device automatically disconnects, stopping charging and preventing excessive discharge. The solar panel only charges the battery when the device is turned on. If the solar panel has a protective film, remove it before first use to ensure proper light absorption and prevent the film from degrading over time.
The manufacturer and distributor are not liable for damages, personal injury, or malfunctions resulting from improper use, storage, or unauthorized repairs. Only qualified personnel designated by the manufacturer or distributor should repair a faulty device.
