2.2. INSTALLATION:
To use the Doxmand VR1 wild animal alarm, follow these steps below:
1. Survey of the area: Examinaon of the area to be protected, determinaon of the expected arrival/characterisc movement direcon of the wild animals.
2. Posioning the device: 2.1. As described in the placement guide! Placement can be done on a grounded column/stake, making sure that the solar cell is not covered, always
exposed to sunlight, and that the free spread of the sound is not obstructed. The included steel corner bracket has to be xed on a column/pole/tree, then with the help of
the wing screw you can stabilize the device on to the bracket. The next step is to x the solar panel with the cable es to the column. For the best eciency, turn the solar
panel to the south.
Turning on: we can be sure of the operaon of our device as follows: aer turning on the device 1-3 beeps will inform you about the baery charge level, then it will opmize the charging and
will start the ultrasonic sound
Beeps: the baery charge level (you can hear this when turning on the device)
• 3 beeps: full charge level (maximum alarm power – more frequent during the night)
• 2 beeps: medium charge level (low power mode on – the frequency of alarms is equal to the dayme alarms)
• 1 beep: low charge level, waing for sunshine (the device is on charging mode, no alarms)
Outer power source
The device can be charged with outer power source between 5-14 V; for example 12 V car baery, powerbank or with the help of a 5V phone adapter. The device has to be connected with the
included DC cable to the outer power source. In the case of car baery, please order the baery clips (alligator clips) from our webshop (this is not included in the package).
When operated from an external charging unit, the device provides feedback on the operaon of the charging:
- 1 beep: the outer charging is acve
- 2 beeps: no charging – please check if the outer power source is funconal or try to charge from the power outlet
The device has two types of programs to choose from:
- 18-28 kHz – normal (recommended)
- 20-28 kHz – silent mode
-
Light signals:
- When the LED is lit, the device is switched on.
- When the LED is o, the device is switched o
- When the device is switched o, you will hear a loud beep unl the push buon is released, indicang that the device is switched o.
-
Normal mode – minimum frequency threshold 18 kHz (recommended)
The alarm frequency is in a wider range. This results in a more varied and eecve alarm – but some of the cycles can be heard with human ear as well.
The lower frequencies need less energy, so the Normal mode is more energy ecient.
Silent mode – minimal frequency threshold 20kHz
In areas where complete unobtrusiveness is important, the device can be switched to Silent mode – so the frequency bands in the audible range (below 20kHz) will be removed
from the night alarm.
Changing between the modes
You need to Switch on the device. It will turn on in Normal mode – default seng.
To switch to silent mode you need to push the buon twice. To change it back to normal, you need to push the buon twice again.
IMPORTANT! The device will memorize the last seng, so it will turn on with the last seng as switching it on again.
