Disassembling
Flow sensor: Lift the flap (A) by the
lower edge and pivot it upwards;
Push the flow sensor (B) as far as
it will go to the left;
Expiration valve: Remove and empty
the water trap container (A); Turn
the locking ring (B) as far as
possible to the left; Remove the
expiratory valve from the fitting.
Expiration valve: Pull the flow sensor
sleeve (C) from the expiratory valve;
Remove the diaphragm (D).
Sterilize the components of the
expiratory valve (valve housing, flow
sensor sleeve, diaphragm, water
trap) only after dismantling.
After cleaning and disinfecting,
always dry the expiratory valve by
means of hot steam sterilization
at 134 °C (273.2 °F) to ensure that
all remaining liquid is dried
completely in the interior areas.
Remove the flow sensor from the
socket (C);
The flow sensor cannot be
disinfected/cleaned in a machine,
nor can it be sterilised by the hot
steam method; Disinfect flow
sensor for about 1 hour in 70 %
ethanol solution;
The flow sensor may be re-used as
long as calibration can be carried
out successfully.
