If these steps don't resolve the issue, internal damage or wear may be the cause. In that case, replace the carbon brushes and/or have a qualified technician service the tool.

  If your Drill Master Sander is overheating, it may be due to several reasons. First, avoid forcing the tool to work too fast; allow it to operate at its own pace. Second, check for blocked motor housing vents and, wearing safety goggles and a dust mask/respirator, use compressed air to blow out any dust. Lastly, using a long or small diameter extension cord can strain the motor. If an extension cord is needed, use one with the proper diameter for its length and load.

  If your Drill Master Sander isn't sanding or polishing effectively, first, ensure the disc accessory is correctly installed on the spindle and that the outer flange/arbor nut is tight. Next, check the condition and type of disc accessory, using only the proper type in good condition. Finally, if wax sprays off the polishing pad, reduce the RPM to the minimum setting.
