Auspacken und Aufstellen
Bitte beachten Sie, wenn Ihr Dual 521 Teil einer
Komplettanlage ist, auch die entsprechenden Emp-
fehlungen des Herstellers.
Stellen Sie bitte nach Óffnen des Kartons den
Styroporeinsatz mit dem kompletten Zube-
hôr zunächst zur Sete, Nehmen Sie die Kon-
sole mit eingesetzten Plattenspieler aus dem
Karton und stellen Sie das Gerát an den
hierfür vorgesehenen Platz. Hinweiszettel am
Gerát bitte erst lesen und danach mit den
Verpackungsfolien entfernen. Wir empfehlen,
für einen eventuellen spáteren Transport, die
Originalverpackung aufzubewahren.
Lósen Sie die Transportsicherungsschrauben
(3) durch Drehen im Uhrzeigersinn (Fig. 1),
bis sie ca. 15 mm tiefer rutschen. Entfernen
Sie die Schutzsegmente des Plattentellers und
ziehen Sie die Transportsicherungsschrauben
— durch Weiterdrehen im Uhrzeigersinn —
fest. Damit ist der Plattenspieler für die Spiel-
stellung federnd gelagert (Fig. 2 B).
Nehrnen Sie bitte das Tonarm-Balancegewicht
aus dem Styroporeinsatz und stecken Sie den
Dorn des Balancegewichtes, nach Lösen der
Feststellschraube (12) in die dafür vorgesehene
Offnung am hinteren Ende des Tonarmes.
Die dreikantfórmige Aussparung am Dorn
muß dabei nach unten zeigen (Fig. 3)
Das Ausbalancieren sowie das fetzt erforder-
lich werdende Einstellen von Auflagekraft
und Antiskating ist ausführlich beschrieben
auf den Seiten 18 und 20.
Die Hóhe der Auflagekraft für das in das
Gerät bereits eingesetzte Tonabnehmersystem
entnehmen Sie bitte dem separaten Daten-
blatt
Nehmen Sie jetzt den Anschluß an den Wie-
dergabe-Verstärker vor und verbinden Sie
das Netzkabel mit der Steckdose. Beachten
Sie bitte hierzu die separaten Hinweise in
dieser Anleitung
Nachtráglicher Transport
Sollte das Gerät nachträglich transportiert
werden, z.B. beim Wohnungswechsel, ist es
notwendig, Sicherungsmaßnahmen zu tref-
fen. Die Transportsicherungsschrauben sind

Si votre Dual 521 fait partie d'un ensemble inté-
gré. veuillez également tenir compte des conseils
correspondants du producteur
Aprés avoir ouvert le carton, placez tout
d'abord la garniture de styropor avec le pla-
teau et tous les accessoires sur le côté. Sortez
du carton, le socle avec sa platine et disposez
l'appareil à l'emplacement prévu. Lisez la
fiche d'indications de l'appareil et retirez-la
avec les feuilles d'emballage. Nous recom-
mandons de garder l'emballage original pour
pouvoir l'utiliser éventuellement lors d'un
transport ultérieur.
Dévisser les vis de sécurité pour le transport
(3) (Fig. 1) en tournant dans le sens horaire
jusqu'à ce qu'elles s'enfoncent d'environ
15 mm. Retirer les segments de protection
du plateau et serrer les vis de sécurité en
continuant à tourner dans le méme sens.
Maintenant, la platine, ainsi fixée dans sa
suspension élastique, est prête à fonctionner
(Fig. 2 B).
Retirez le contrepoids du bras de l'emballage
de styropor, et introduisez la tige du contre-
poids, aprés avoir desserré la vis de blocage
(12), dans l'ouverture prévue à cet effet
à l'extrémité arriére du bras de lecture. L'en-
coche triangulaire de la tige doit alors être
tournée vers le bas (Fig. 3).
L'équilibrage, ainsi que le réglage nécessaire
de la force d'appui et de l'antiskating, sont
décrits en détail pages 18 et 20.
La valeur de la force d'appui pour la cellule
d'origine montée sur l'appareil est indiquée
dans les caractéristiques techniques sur la
feuille annexée.
Effectuez maintenant le raccordement à
l'amplificateur et au secteur. Veuillez pour
cela vous reporter aux paragraphes corres-
pondants de cette notice.
Transport ultérieur
Si l'appareil doit étre transporté ultérieure-
ment, par ex. pour un déménagement, il est
nécessaire de prendre des mesures de sécurité.
Les vis de sécurité pour le transport doivent
être tournées en sens anti-horaire, soulevées,

unit or a console follow the instructions of the
latter's manutacturer.
Take out the Styrofoam-protected platter as-
sembly and put it aside for the time being.
Remove the base with the turntableand place
it where it will be used. Read carefully the
special instruction sheet attached to the
turntable before removing it and the packing
material from the turntable. For later trans-
port we recommend to heep the original
packing material
Loosen the transit safety screws (3) by turn-
ing them clockwise (Fig. 1) until they slide
downward (about 15 mm) releasing the
chassis from the base. Remove the securing
pads between the chassis and the platter.
Then continue turning the safety screws
clockwise to tighten the screws. The turn-
table is now in spring-supported position
required for play position (Fig. 2 B)
Take the tonearm counterbalance out of its
Styrofoam insert. Loosen the set screw (12)
at the rear of the tonearm, then insert the
shaft of the counter balance in the opening
provided for this purpose. The triangular
shaped notch of the shaft must point in
downward direction (Fig. 3). Pages 18and 20
explain how to balance the tonearm and then
apply stylus pressure and anti-skating.
The separate technical Data sheet advises
you on setting tracking pressure for the
cartridge already inserted in the unit.
Now connect the phono cables to the ampli-
fier and connect the line cord either to the
convenience outlet on the back of the am-
plifier or directly to the house current
Please read theseparate instructions given for
this phase of installation.
Later Transport
If the unit is to be transported subsequently,
for example when moving house, it is neces-
sary to implement various safety measu-
res.
