PREPARING THE
PEDELEC
If you have chosen to have the
bicycle delivered directly at home,
without resorting to an authorised
retailer, there are some steps to
prepare it to be used on the road
and grow accustomed to your new
Ducati eRoad.
We would like to remind users that
they must always make sure they
have the necessary experience
to assemble their e-Road bike,
otherwise they should resort to a
qualied professional.
Before continuing, one must stress
that this manual will often refer to
the pedal-assisted bicycle by using
the term Pedelec (Pedal Electric
Cycle), meaning a bicycle equipped
with a motor that provides
assistance to the cyclist only while
he or she is pedalling. Using this
terminology is crucial to
dierentiate the Pedelec and a
normal bike with exclusively a
muscular push coming from the
cyclist.
To continue with the following
phases and with those related to
the assembly process, you should
become accustomed with
the terminology of the Pedelec
and of its components. To do so,
keep the “bicycle and component
description” of this manual close
to you as you carry out a rst
inspection of the vehicle.
Below are the main phases to
remove the Pedelec from the
box and the various steps before
assembling the bicycle.
-Opening the packaging and
checking whether anything is
damaged or missing:
Once you have received the box and
have checked that there is no clear
damage, you can open it and check the
content by removing the packaging.
