Overview

This document provides assembly instructions, a packing list, and warranty information for the Dura-Trel, Inc. #11127 4' Kids Picnic Table.

Function Description:

The Dura-Trel, Inc. #11127 4' Kids Picnic Table is a children's picnic table designed for outdoor use. It features a tabletop and two integrated seats, supported by a leg and brace structure. The table is constructed from durable materials, likely PVC, given the "Vinyl Lawn & Garden Products" and "20YR Warranty" mentions, which suggests resistance to weathering and common outdoor elements. The assembly process involves attaching various rails, brackets, and end caps using screws, bolts, washers, and nylock nuts, with glue used for end caps to ensure a secure and finished look.

Usage Features:

Assembly Process:

The assembly is divided into three main sections: Table Top Assembly, Seat Assembly, and Table Leg Assembly, followed by Completing Table Assembly and Diagonal Brace installation, and finally Seat Attachment.

  • Table Top Assembly: Involves laying out four 1½" x 5½" x 48" table top rails with pilot holes facing up. Two 20" brackets are placed over the pilot holes, leaving a 1/8" gap between rails, and fastened with ¾" screws. Glue is applied to the inside edges of 7/8" x 1½" x 22 3/8" end caps, which are then pushed onto the ends of the table top rails, ensuring they are flush with the outer edges.
  • Seat Assembly: Similar to the table top, two 1½" x 5½" x 48" seat rails are laid out with pilot holes facing up, maintaining an approximate 1/8" gap. An 8¾" bracket is placed over pilot holes on each end and fastened with ¾" screws. Glue is applied to the inside edges of 7/8" x 1½" x 11 1/8" end caps, which are then pushed onto the ends of the seat rails. (Note: The pilot holes for seat rails are closer to the ends than those for top rails).
  • Table Leg Assembly: Two 1½" x 5½" x 27¾" leg rails are laid out at an angle, with pilot holes for attaching to the table. A 1½" x 5½" x 48" cross rail is placed across the legs, aligning bolt holes. ¼" x 3½" bolts, washers, and nylock nuts are used to secure them, drawing snug but not overtightening. Bolt heads should face the outside of the table. Glue is applied to 7/8" x 1½" x 6 1/8" angle cut end caps for the bottom of the legs and 7/8" x 1½" x 5½" end caps for the ends of the cross rail, and then placed.
  • Completing Table Assembly: With the tabletop upside down, one table leg assembly is inserted into the bracket on the underside of the tabletop, with bolt heads facing outwards. ¼" x 2¼" bolts, washers, and nylock nuts are used to draw bolts up snug with 7/16" wrenches. This is repeated for the opposite end.
  • Diagonal Brace: Both 7/8" x 1½" x 21¼" diagonal braces are bolted to the center of the cross rails of the table leg assemblies using ¼" x 2¼" bolts, washers, and nylock nuts, with bolt heads facing outwards. The opposite ends of the diagonal braces overlap at the center of the tabletop. Two 3/32" pilot holes are drilled through the braces and into the tabletop, and then fastened with 1½" screws.
  • Seat Attachment: Seat rail assemblies are positioned over the horizontal cross rails of the leg assemblies. Bolt holes of the brackets are aligned with holes in the cross rail and fastened with ¼" x 2¼" bolts, washers, and nylock nuts.

Maintenance Features:

  • Upon completion of table assembly, it is important to file or sand any sharp edges on the end caps to prevent cuts and scrapes.
