Overview

The Durabuilt EasySHED Gable Roof Quality Garden Shed is a robust and practical storage solution designed for style, durability, and function. This shed is supplied in a modular panel form, making it convenient for transport and handling, and ensuring an "easy to install" experience. The assembly process is streamlined with a 5-step approach, making it accessible for most users.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Durabuilt EasySHED is to provide secure and weather-resistant storage for garden tools, equipment, and other outdoor items. Its gable roof design not only offers an attractive aesthetic but also facilitates efficient water runoff, preventing accumulation and potential damage. The shed is engineered to withstand strong winds when correctly assembled and anchored, ensuring the safety of its contents. The modular panel system allows for a straightforward construction process, breaking down the assembly into manageable steps. The inclusion of an optional window provides natural light inside the shed, enhancing usability. The door assembly is designed for security, featuring a padbolt and hasp for locking, and can be adjusted to ensure smooth operation even on slightly uneven ground.

Usage Features:

The Durabuilt EasySHED is designed with user convenience in mind. The assembly process is simplified into five main steps: Back Panel Assembly, Side Panels Assembly, Roof Panel Assembly, Door Assembly/Hanging the Door, and Site Installation. Each step is clearly illustrated with diagrams and detailed instructions, making it easy to follow.

  • Back Panel Assembly: This initial step involves overlapping and fixing plain sheets to cut-out channels, forming the base structure of the back wall. The cut-out sections of the channels are positioned on the inside, ensuring a clean exterior finish.
  • Side Panel Assembly: Two identical gable side panels are constructed by overlapping gable sheets and fixing them to U channels and apex channels. Gussets are used at the apex of the gable to reinforce the structure. The apex channel is gently bent to form the gable shape, ensuring a snug fit with the sheeting.
  • Roof Panel Assembly: The roof panels are created by overlapping roof sheets and fixing them to U channels and L flashings. The L flashings are designed with EdgeSAFE® finishing, providing a safe and clean edge. A ridge beam is incorporated to connect the two roof panels, forming the gable roof structure.
  • Door Assembly/Hanging the Door: This step involves assembling the door sheet with U channels and a door strap, then attaching it to a plain sheet with Z door jambs and hinges. The door is pre-hung to simplify the final front panel assembly. The EdgeSAFE® feature on the Z door jambs ensures safety during handling.
  • Site Installation (5 Step Installation - EasySHED): This crucial stage involves laying out the wall panels in the correct order, raising and securing the back panel and side walls by fixing through the corner rib overlap. The front (door panel) is then brought into position and fixed to the side walls. It is essential to square the walls by ensuring equal diagonal measurements before proceeding. Finally, the roof panels, with the ridge beam attached, are positioned over the gable apex and fixed to the top channels of the side walls, front, and back panels.

The shed's design incorporates EdgeSAFE® panels and channels, which feature rolled safety edges on all exposed sections. This innovative feature improves protection during installation and assembly, and throughout the shed's lifetime, by minimizing sharp edges. The deep profile ribbed steel used in construction not only provides an attractive and durable quality but also enhances the structural integrity of the shed.

Optional extras, such as a double door option, sliding door kit, window option, and skylight option, can be integrated to further customize the shed to specific needs. These options come with separate assembly instructions to guide the user through their installation.

Maintenance Features:

The Durabuilt EasySHED is designed for long-term durability with minimal maintenance. The use of hi-tensile, deep profile ribbed steel, which meets strict Australian Standards (AS/NZS 2728: 1997), ensures performance in harsh conditions. The colored sheeting is warranted for up to 15 years, indicating its resistance to environmental factors.

Proper anchoring is a critical maintenance feature, as it prevents damage to panels, property, or persons, especially in windy weather. The manual provides detailed instructions for both temporary and permanent anchoring methods. For permanent anchoring on a concrete slab, three methods are recommended, including pouring a concrete slab inside, anchoring to an existing concrete slab with a Concrete Fixing Set, or using a concrete slab with a stepped or rebated edge to prevent rainwater runoff. The rebated slab dimensions and the minimum number of anchors required are specified to ensure adequate stability.

The adjustment of the door bolt is a practical maintenance feature, allowing users to ensure smooth operation of the padbolt and hasp even if the site is not perfectly level. This can be achieved by slightly levering up the wall and packing beneath it, either below the bolt or the hinges, before the final anchoring of the front panel.

The manufacturer emphasizes that the shed should not be assembled in windy weather to prevent damage or personal injury. It is also highlighted that inadequate anchoring can lead to significant damage, for which the manufacturer accepts no responsibility. This underscores the importance of following the anchoring instructions carefully to ensure the shed's longevity and safety.

Overall, the Durabuilt EasySHED Gable Roof Quality Garden Shed offers an economical, stylish, and durable storage solution with user-friendly assembly and practical features designed for long-term use and minimal upkeep.
