What to do if my DV Systems Air Compressor unit won’t start?
    • N
      Nancy MillerSep 12, 2025
If your DV Systems Air Compressor won't start, first ensure that there is power at the disconnect or breaker and check any fuses. If the power supply is ok, check for loose or missing wires in the electrical circuit, ensuring all wiring connections are tight and present according to the wiring schematic. Also, the starter overload may be tripped, so reset it in the magnetic starter. Finally, the pressure in the tank might not be low enough; drop it below the pressure switch ‘cut-in’ pressure to allow the unit to start.

Why is there oil passing downstream and excessive carbon build-up in my DV Systems IS5-10080 Air Compressor?
    • D
      David SuttonAug 21, 2025
If you notice oil passing downstream and excessive carbon build-up in your DV Systems Air Compressor, several factors could be the cause. First, check if the ambient temperature is too high; introduce cooler air, improve airflow, or relocate the unit. Ensure there is adequate air circulation around the unit and that the flywheel rotation is correct, maintaining a minimum of 18 inches of space around it. Also, check the air filter for obstructions and clean or replace it as needed. Verify that the oil level in the pump is correct and that you are using the factory-recommended oil. Finally, inspect the valves and piston rings for wear and replace them if necessary.

How to fix no or insufficient air flow in DV Systems Air Compressor?
    • K
      Kyle RogersAug 23, 2025
If your DV Systems Air Compressor has no or insufficient airflow, start by replacing the air filter if it's dirty. Check the belts and tighten them if they are loose, but avoid over-tightening. Clean or replace any leaking, sticking, or plugged pump valves, aftercooler, or tank check valve. Fix any air leaks at the compressor or in the piping system; a soap/water mixture can help find small leaks.

What causes overheating in a DV Systems Air Compressor?
    • D
      Debra LongAug 26, 2025
If your DV Systems Air Compressor is overheating, ensure the unit isn't undersized for your air requirements and that the maximum operating time is based on an 8-hour minutes per hour. Clean any dirt accumulation on the outside of the pump. Move the compressor so the beltguard is a minimum of 18 inches away from any obstruction. Ensure the pump is rotating in the correct direction and fix any air leaks using a soap/water mixture to find them. Clean or replace the remote air intake piping (if used) if it’s too small or plugged, and replace the air filter if it's restricted. For oil-related issues, refer to ‘Lubrication’ on Page 8. Finally, clean or replace worn or carboned valves in the cylinder head, aftercooler tube, or check valve as required.

How to prevent belts from rolling off my DV Systems Air Compressor?
    • G
      garrettmariaAug 30, 2025
If the belts on your DV Systems Air Compressor are rolling off, first align the motor flywheel and motor pulley using a straight edge. If using multiple belts, ensure they are a matched set; purchase a new set if needed. Also, check for any nicks or tears on the belt edges and replace them. Finally, verify that the belts match the flywheel/pulley groove (such as ‘A’ or ‘B’ section) and purchase a new set if they don't match.

Why does water in my DV Systems IS5-10080 Air Compressor tank look milky?
    • D
      Dawn SimmonsSep 1, 2025
If the water in your DV Systems Air Compressor tank appears milky, drain the tank daily or purchase an auto-drain. If the unit isn't used frequently, run it for 30 minutes when used to burn off water. Since an oil/water mixture can cause premature pump issues, check the oil regularly and change it more often than suggested in the maintenance schedule.

How to fix oil leaks on my DV Systems IS5-10080?
    • M
      Michael BonillaSep 3, 2025
If you notice oil leaks or oil on your DV Systems Air Compressor, use care when filling the pump with oil and wipe any spills immediately. If the pump is over-filled, drain oil until the proper level is reached. Check the filler plug and change the O-ring if there’s a leak. Ensure the pipe nipple and cap are sealed at the oil drain. For leaks at gaskets, cap screws, cylinder head, cylinder, or crankcase, retorque fasteners to factory specs initially; if leaks persist, replace the gasket and use Loctite Form-a-Gasket on head bolts and crankcase to cylinder bolts. Inspect the crankshaft for scratches or burrs using emery cloth and replace the oil seal as required.

Why does the flywheel or motor pulley wobble on my DV Systems Air Compressor?
    • B
      Bryan WagnerSep 5, 2025
If the flywheel or motor pulley on your DV Systems Air Compressor wobbles or comes loose, tighten the clamping bolt on the flywheel as required. If the set screw on the motor pulley came loose, remove the existing one and purchase a new one.

What to do if the unloader at pressure switch doesn't function on my DV Systems IS5-10080?
    • M
      mitchellmelissaSep 7, 2025
If the unloader at the pressure switch of your DV Systems Air Compressor does not function or leaks when the unit is operating, the unloader may be dirty or faulty. Clean, repair, or replace it.

Why does the intercooler safety valve pop continuously on my DV Systems IS5-10080 Air Compressor?
    • T
      thomastylerSep 9, 2025
If the intercooler safety valve on your DV Systems Air Compressor pops continuously, dirty or defective valves may be causing back pressure. Clean, repair, or replace the valves. The intercooler might also be clogged with carbon, so clean or replace it.
