What to do if my DV Systems Air Compressor is overheating?
    • J
      Jeff PearsonAug 18, 2025
If your DV Systems Air Compressor is overheating, it could be due to several factors: high ambient temperature, blocked air circulation, a dirty heat exchanger, low oil level, using the wrong type of oil, a faulty thermo valve, a blocked oil filter, a faulty temperature sensor or thermostat, high pressure, or an open cabinet door/panel. Solutions include checking and improving air circulation, cleaning the heat exchanger, adding the correct type of oil, checking and repairing the thermo valve, replacing the oil filter, checking the wiring to the temperature sensor and replacing it if necessary, replacing the thermostat, lowering the pressure setting, and securing the cabinet door/panel.

Why is my DV Systems Air Compressor consuming too much oil?
    • C
      Carlos GardnerAug 22, 2025
Excessive oil consumption in your DV Systems Air Compressor can stem from several causes: the oil level being too high, a blocked oil return line, a saturated oil separator, using the wrong type of oil, operating the unit at too high a temperature, an oil leak, or light unit load or excessive load/idle cycles. Suggested actions include reducing the oil level, cleaning or replacing the scavenge in-line filter, replacing the oil separator, switching to the factory-recommended oil, addressing high operating temperatures, repairing any oil leaks, and ensuring the unit operates at correct pressures with a minimum 10 psi differential, also considering if the unit is oversized for the tank capacity.

Why is there no or insufficient air flow from my DV Systems Air Compressor?
    • M
      Melanie RodriguezAug 26, 2025
If your DV Systems Air Compressor has no or insufficient airflow, it could be due to a dirty air filter, a blocked oil separator, a faulty intake valve, air leaks in the system, incorrect pressure limits, an open blowdown solenoid valve, or broken or slipping belts. To resolve this, replace the air filter or oil separator, repair or replace the intake valve, check for and fix air leaks, adjust the pressure settings, check the wiring to the solenoid valve and replace if necessary, and check the belt tension and condition.

What to do if my DV Systems Air Compressor surges?
    • R
      randall97Aug 28, 2025
If your DV Systems Air Compressor is surging, the cause may be a restriction in the heat exchanger or hoses, an incorrect or malfunctioning pressure transducer setting, a blockage at the unit outlet, the dryer freezing up, or an undersized air receiver. Try flushing out or replacing the heat exchanger or hoses, setting the pressure as per instructions or replacing the transducer, checking for obstructions in the outlet piping, verifying the dryer parameters and increasing the dew point if needed, and using a minimum 120-gallon air receiver for 7-1/2 to 15 HP Units.

Why does my DV Systems Air Compressor start slowly?
    • P
      powellkristinaSep 1, 2025
A slow start in your DV Systems Air Compressor could be caused by an intake valve not functioning properly, low ambient temperature, the minimum pressure valve leaking back to the air end, the minimum pressure valve setting being too high, or using the wrong type of oil. Try checking the intake valve operation and repairing or replacing it as needed, stopping and restarting once the ambient temperature increases, repairing or replacing the minimum pressure valve, adjusting the minimum pressure valve setting to 65 psi, or changing to the factory-recommended oil.

Why is my DV Systems Air Compressor showing fault alarms?
    • M
      meyersamuelSep 4, 2025
Fault alarms on your DV Systems Air Compressor can be triggered by several issues: the emergency stop button being pressed, high or low temperature, or high pressure. Ensure the emergency stop button is not pressed. If high temperature, see ‘Section C’. If low temperature, increase ambient temperature to 10°C. For high pressure, check the pressure settings, the pressure transducer, and the wiring to the transducer.

Why does the intake valve on my DV Systems Air Compressor leak oil when the unit stops?
    • E
      Eric JonesSep 8, 2025
Oil leaking from the intake valve of your DV Systems Air Compressor when it stops can be due to a leaking intake valve seal, the intake valve being stuck in the open position, or a malfunctioning blowdown solenoid. Repair the intake valve using an intake valve repair kit, repair or replace the intake valve, or replace the solenoid.

Why does my DV Systems Air Compressor have high power consumption?
    • R
      Ronald RamirezSep 12, 2025
High power consumption in your DV Systems Air Compressor can be attributed to improper air pressure settings, a malfunctioning blowdown solenoid, low voltage or phase imbalance in the building's electrical supply, or a failing motor. Reset the pressure to factory defaults, inspect or replace the blowdown solenoid, contact an electrician to verify the voltage, and have the motor inspected.

Why won't my DV Systems Air Compressor start?
    • K
      Kim RiveraNov 14, 2025
Your DV Systems Air Compressor might not start due to several reasons. There could be no power reaching the unit, loose or missing wires, the Emergency Stop Button might be pressed, the Motor Overload could be tripped, the compressor might be overheated or stopped by over-pressure, the unit might have timed out because the pressure hasn't dropped below 120 psi, or there could have been a power interruption. Suggested solutions include checking the power at the disconnect or breaker, ensuring all wiring connections are tight, releasing the Emergency Stop Button, resetting the overload, ensuring sufficient airflow and appropriate ambient temperature, cleaning the Heat Exchanger, checking/replacing faulty components like the Temperature Switch or Solenoid Valve, addressing leaks, lowering the...
