Why is my Echo Trimmer engine hard to start?
    • M
      Michael RamirezJul 26, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer engine is hard to start or doesn't start, it could be due to several reasons. The fuel strainer or fuel line might be obstructed, requiring cleaning or replacement by your Echo dealer. A fuel mixture that's too rich could also be the culprit; in this case, open the choke, clean or replace the air filter, adjust the carburetor, or consult your Echo dealer. Ensure the stop switch is in the ON position and check for electrical problems with your Echo dealer. Finally, inspect the spark plug for incorrect gap, carbon buildup, fuel fouling, or defects; adjust the gap to 0.65mm (0.026 in.) or replace the plug as needed.

Also, the fuel filter could be dirty, requiring replacement of the filter or the fuel itself.
