What to do if ECS Motherboard power is on, fans are running but there is no display?
    • S
      Sarah BlackwellJul 27, 2025
First, ensure that your monitor is powered on and the cable connecting it to the PC is securely attached. If you have a VGA adapter card, verify that it's properly inserted. Also, listen for beep sounds during startup. If you have an internal PC speaker connected, a continuous three short beeps indicates a memory detection problem, while one long beep followed by eight short beeps suggests an issue with the VGA.

How to fix ECS Motherboard when the system does not power up and the fans are not running?
    • C
      Cory GonzalezAug 4, 2025
To troubleshoot, disassemble the PC, removing the VGA adaptor card, DDR memory, LAN, USB and other peripherals including keyboard and mouse. Leave only the motherboard, CPU with CPU cooler, and power supply connected. Ensure the power cord is plugged into the wall socket and the PSU switch is on. Power on again to see if the CPU and power supply fans are running. Also, make sure to remove any unused screws or metal objects from inside the PC case to prevent short circuits. Check that the CPU fan connector and the 12V power connector are connected to the motherboard, and that the 12V power & ATX connectors are fully inserted and latched into place. For Intel platforms, inspect the CPU socket pins for any damage or bending.

Why does my ECS B85H3-M Motherboard PC suddenly shuts down while booting up?
    • D
      Deanna BlackwellAug 11, 2025
This issue may occur if the CPU is overheating. Ensure that thermal grease is applied to the CPU heatsink and that the CPU fan is securely connected to the heatsink. Verify the CPU fan is functioning correctly while the system is running. Additionally, you can try disabling the Smartfan function in the BIOS settings to allow the fan to run at its default speed. Loading Optimized Defaults in the BIOS will also disable Smartfan.

What to do if ECS Motherboard has start up problems after prolong use?
    • S
      Steven CrawfordAug 18, 2025
First, clear the CMOS values using the CLR_CMOS jumper. Then do a Load Optimised Default in the BIOS setup. Check the CPU cooler fan for dust, and clean or replace it if necessary. Ensure that the 12V power & ATX connectors are fully inserted into the motherboard connectors and latched. Remove the hard drive, optical drive, or DDR memory to identify any faulty components. Finally, inspect for any bulged electrolytic capacitors or abnormal components.
