Why does my ECS B75H2-M3 Motherboard PC suddenly shut down while booting up?
    • J
      Jason Nguyen DVMAug 7, 2025
If your PC with an ECS Motherboard suddenly shuts down during boot-up, it could be due to CPU overheating. Apply thermal grease to the CPU heatsink and ensure the CPU fan is securely connected. Check that the CPU fan is functioning correctly while the system is running. You can also try disabling the Smartfan function in the BIOS settings to allow the fan to run at its default speed, which can be achieved by loading optimized defaults in the BIOS.

How to fix ECS B75H2-M3 when system does not power up and the fans are not running?
    • R
      robert02Aug 15, 2025
If your ECS Motherboard system isn't powering up and the fans aren't running, try these steps: First, disassemble the PC, removing the VGA adaptor card, DDR memory, LAN, USB, and other peripherals, including the keyboard and mouse, leaving only the motherboard, CPU with cooler, and power supply connected. Ensure the power cord is plugged into the wall and the PSU switch is on. Then, power it on again to see if the CPU and power supply fans run. Also, remove any unused screws or metal objects from inside the PC case to prevent short circuits. Check the CPU FAN connector and the 12V power connector are connected to the motherboard, ensuring the 12V power & ATX connectors are fully inserted and latched. For Intel platforms, inspect the CPU socket for bent or damaged pins.

If you're experiencing start-up problems with your ECS Motherboard after prolonged use, try clearing the CMOS values using the CLR_CMOS jumper. After this, load the optimized defaults in the BIOS setup. Also, check the CPU cooler fan for dust accumulation, which reduces cooling efficiency; clean or replace it if necessary. Ensure the 12V power & ATX connectors are fully inserted and latched. Remove the hard drive, optical drive, or DDR memory to identify any faulty components. Finally, inspect for any bulged electrolytic capacitors or abnormal components.
