KAYAK SEAT AND PADDLE ASSEMBLY
STEP 14 (Optional): Attach the seat(s) to the board. Place the kayak seat on the
floor-board in a position that is comfortable. Using the upper straps attached to the
back of the kayak seat, thread through the forward set of ladder locks and adjust
as needed.
STEP 15a: If using as a kayak (2-blade mode), find the middle paddle piece with
the two adjustment clips. On both ends, hold the shaft with one hand and gently
pull up on the adjustment clip about 0.64 cm (0.25 in). Slide the paddle blades into
the shaft, making sure to align the metal pins in the clip with the holes in the blade
piece. When adjusting the paddle length, do not completely remove the height
adjustment clip from the paddle
STEP 15b: If using as a SUP (1-blade mode), find the middle paddle piece with the
two adjustment clips. On both ends, hold the shaft with one hand and gently pull up
on the adjustment clip about 0.64 cm (0.25 in). Slide one of the paddle blades into
the shaft, making sure to align the metal pins in the clip with the holes in the blade
piece. Do the same thing for the T-grip. When adjusting the paddle length, do not
completely remove the height adjustment clip from the paddle.
NOTE: Adjusting the height on the paddle on shore is always best. The clip needs
only to be pulled up about 0.64 cm (0.25 in) to adjust. Completely removing the
clip may cause damage to the clip and the paddle and can lead to the clip falling
in the water and sinking.
STEP 16: It is recommended that you
wear a Coast Guard approved personal
flotation device (PFD). A PFD is a
requirement in most jurisdictions.
STEP 17: Remember to inspect
the environment for safe paddling
conditions.
