[FAQ] How to change the operating mode and
configuration of EW-7478APC

Introduction
This FAQ is applied to the below Edimax AP.
Related Product: EW-7478APC
Note: There are five modes on EW-7478APC and AP mode is the factory default mode on the device. The
instructions below are to guide you to change the AP mode to another mode you wish to use.
Before configure your EW-7478APC
1. Connect your PC to one of the yellow LAN ports labeled 1,2,3,4 on the back of the device using an
Ethernet cable.
2. Set a static IP address on your computer.

Click 'Reset to Default' and confirm to revert the device to factory settings.

Reset Completion

Wait for the reset process to finish and the device to restart.

Changing the Operating Mode

Configure Dynamic IP for Computer

Set computer to obtain IP address and DNS server address automatically.

Access Mode Selection Page

Re-access the setup URL and click 'Get Started' to proceed.

Select New Operating Mode

Click 'CHANGE TO A DIFFERENT MODE' to enter the mode selection screen.

Confirm Mode Change

Choose the desired mode (e.g., Wi-Fi Router) and click 'Next'.
