If your Efco Chainsaw engine doesn't start or shuts off shortly after starting, and you've confirmed the switch is in the “I” position: 1. Check for a spark at the spark plug. If there's no spark, try again with a new spark plug (BPMR8Y). 2. Your engine might be flooded. Follow the procedure on page 20. If it still doesn't start, try the procedure again with a new spark plug.

      Angela HubbardAug 20, 2025
If the bar and chain on your Efco Chainsaw are heating up and smoking, here's what to check: 1. Ensure the chain oil reservoir is full. Refill it every time you refill the fuel tank. 2. Check the chain tension. Adjust it according to the instructions to avoid overtightening. 3. Run the chainsaw at full throttle for 15-30 seconds, then stop it and see if oil drips from the bar's tip. If oil is present, the issue might be a loose chain or a damaged bar. If there's no oil, contact an Authorized Service Center.
