Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the Einhell CC-AC 35/10 12V car compressor, covering its layout, operation, safety guidelines, maintenance, and disposal.

Function Description

The Einhell CC-AC 35/10 12V is a portable car compressor designed for inflating various items, primarily car, motorcycle, and bicycle tires, as well as balls and small air mattresses. It operates via a 12V cigarette lighter socket, making it suitable for use in cars, mobile homes, and trucks. The compressor's main function is to deliver compressed air to inflate items to their desired pressure. It features a pressure gauge to monitor the inflation process and an On/Off switch for easy control. The device is intended for personal use and is not designed for commercial, trade, or industrial applications.

Usage Features

The compressor is straightforward to operate. To begin, the 12V power plug must be inserted into a matching 12V cigarette lighter socket. Before activation, it is crucial to check the pressure gauge. For inflating tires, the valve cap is removed, and the connector of the compressed air hose is screwed onto the tire valve. Alternatively, a bicycle valve adapter can be used if needed. The compressor is then switched on by setting the On/Off switch to "I". Once the desired pressure is reached, the compressor is switched off by setting the On/Off switch to "0".

For inflating footballs and air mattresses, a suitable adapter from the accessory set (long adapter, short adapter, ball adapter) is selected and screwed into the connector of the compressed air hose. It is important to exercise caution when inflating these items to prevent over-inflation and potential bursting, as the pressure gauge may not indicate exact values for these materials.

A key safety feature is the integrated miniature fuse within the 12V power plug, which protects the compressor. If this fuse becomes defective, the compressor will cease to function, and the fuse must be replaced with one of the same rating by unscrewing the front part of the plug.

The compressor is not designed for continuous operation. After running for 15 minutes, it requires a 10-minute cooling period to prevent overheating and ensure longevity. This intermittent duty cycle is essential for safe and effective use.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the Einhell car compressor. Before any cleaning or maintenance work, it is imperative to pull out the 12V power plug to prevent accidental activation and potential hazards.

Regular cleaning is recommended to keep the device in optimal condition. All safety devices, air vents, and the motor housing should be kept free of dirt and dust. The equipment can be wiped with a clean cloth or blown with compressed air at low pressure. It is advisable to clean the device immediately after each use. For more thorough cleaning, the equipment can be wiped with a clean cloth and some soft soap, ensuring that no water enters the device, as this could lead to an electric shock.

The pressure gauge should be checked for damage before each use. While the gauge provides an indication of pressure, it is not calibrated for exact air pressure values. For critical applications like car tires, it is recommended to verify the actual tire pressure with a calibrated pressure gauge, such as one found at a petrol station. This ensures accurate inflation and adherence to vehicle manufacturer specifications.

The cable should be protected from heat, oil, and sharp edges. It should never be used to carry the compressor, nor should the plug be pulled out of the cigarette lighter socket by the cable. Regular inspection of the machine for signs of damage is important. Any defective or damaged parts should be repaired or replaced by a customer service workshop, unless otherwise instructed in the manual.

In the event of a defective miniature fuse, it must be replaced with a fuse of the same rating. This is a user-serviceable part, requiring the front part of the plug to be unscrewed.

For ordering replacement parts, specific information such as the type of machine, article number, identification number, and the part number of the required component should be quoted. This ensures that the correct parts are supplied for repair.

The equipment and its packaging materials are not toys and should be kept away from children to prevent choking or suffocation hazards from plastic bags, foils, or small parts.

For disposal, the equipment and its accessories, made from various materials like metal and plastic, should not be placed in household refuse. Instead, they should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal, in accordance with national recycling and waste disposal regulations. This aligns with European Directive 2012/19/EC, which mandates the separation of old electric and electronic equipment for environmentally friendly disposal. Alternatively, the equipment can be returned to a recycling depot. If the equipment is returned to the manufacturer, it must be properly disposed of. This applies only to units with electrical components; accessories without electrical components are not subject to these regulations.
