Do you have a question about the EINHELL GP-F 1300 Niro and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Einhell Royal GP-F 1300 Niro is a garden pump designed for various water transfer and irrigation tasks. It is a robust and largely maintenance-free device, provided proper care and adherence to safety guidelines are observed.

Function Description:

The GP-F 1300 Niro garden pump is primarily intended for irrigating and watering green areas, vegetable patches, and gardens. It can also be used to operate lawn sprinklers. With an optional prefilter, it is suitable for drawing water from ponds, streams, rain-butts, rainwater cisterns, and wells. The pump is designed to handle clear water (fresh water), rainwater, or mild suds/dirty water. It is crucial to note that the pump is not suitable for pumping combustible, gaseous, or explosive fluids, nor aggressive fluids (acids, alkalis, silo seepage, etc.) or abrasive substances (sand). The pump should also not be used in swimming pools or paddling pools where people or animals may be present during operation, nor should it be installed in a drinking water pipeline.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Mains supply: 230V ~ 50 Hz
  • Power rating: 1100 W
  • Delivery rate max.: 4600 l/h
  • Delivery height max.: 48 m
  • Delivery pressure max.: 4.8 bar
  • Suction height max.: 6 m
  • Delivery and intake connection: 1" IG
  • Water temperature max.: 35°C The pump features an integrated ON/OFF switch for operation. The motor is protected against overloading or blocking by an integrated thermostat. In the event of overheating, the thermostat automatically switches off the pump and restarts automatically after it has cooled down.

Usage Features:

For optimal performance and to prevent damage, it is recommended to use a prefilter and an intake set comprising an intake hose, an intake strainer, and a check valve. This setup helps to avoid long repriming times and protects the pump from stones and other foreign bodies.

Suction Pipe Installation:

The suction pipe, preferably a 3/4" plastic pipe with spiral reinforcement, should be screwed directly or via a threaded nipple onto the 1" female thread suction connector (Figure 1/Item 1). If the intake hose does not have an integrated intake valve, a separate check valve should be installed in the suction line. The suction line must rise from the water pick-up point to the pump; laying it higher than the pump should be avoided to prevent air bubbles from hindering suction. Both suction and pressure lines must be installed without mechanical strain on the pump. The intake valve should be sufficiently immersed in the water to prevent the pump from running dry if the water level drops. An airtight suction line is essential for proper water intake.

Pressure Line Connection:

The pressure pipe, ideally at least 3/4", should be connected directly or via a threaded nipple to the 1" female thread pressure pipe connector (Figure 1/Item 2). While a 1/2" pressure hose can be used with appropriate screw connections, it will reduce the delivery rate. During priming, all shut-off devices in the pressure line (e.g., spray nozzles, valves) must be fully opened to allow air in the intake line to escape.

Starting Up:

The pump must only be operated in a horizontal position on flat and firm ground. After connecting the intake line and electrical supply, the pump must be filled with water at the pressure connection. During the priming process, which can take between 30 seconds and 5 minutes depending on suction height and air volume, all shut-off devices in the pressure line must be open. If priming takes longer, the pump should be refilled with water. If the pump is removed after use, it must always be refilled with water before subsequent use.

Transport:

The garden pump is equipped with a telescopic transport handle (Figure 3) for easy portability.

Maintenance Features:

The GP-F 1300 Niro is largely maintenance-free. However, regular checks and care are recommended for a long service life.

  • Safety First: Before any maintenance, the pump must be disconnected from the mains by removing the plug from the socket.
  • Storage: For long periods of non-use or winter storage, the pump should be thoroughly rinsed with water, completely emptied, and stored dry. In case of frost, complete emptying is mandatory.
  • Post-Storage Check: After long stoppages, briefly switch the pump on and off to ensure the rotor turns correctly.
  • Clearing Blockages: If the pump becomes blocked, connect the pressure line to the water line, remove the intake hose, open the water line, and switch the pump on and off several times for about two seconds. This method can often clear blockages.
  • Mains Cable Replacement: If the mains cable is defective, it must only be replaced by an electrician.
