Connection and starting 25
Open installation “FREE”:
With this adjustment the frequency response
of the speaker is optimized for a free posi-
tioning within the room (e.g. on a speaker
stand).
In fairly damped rooms (e.g. with carpets,
curtains, many plants etc.) the treble can
reasonably be increased by means of the
TREBLE switch (TREBLE = +2 dB).
Nearfield installation (e.g. on a mixing con-
sole) “CONSOLE”:
This configuration enables an equalization for
a typical nearfield application (e.g. on a desk-
top, a mixing console or similar).
Close-to-wall installation (e.g. on a speaker
stand close to the wall or on a wall console)
“ONWALL”:
When placing a speaker close to the wall
(distance to the wall < 20 cm) the sound
pressure level especially in the bass range is
increasing. This often leads to a smeary or
bubbly bass sound. When switching on the
“ONWALL” switch, this effect is compensated
by a so called shelving filter.
Close-to-wall Installation and on a console
(or on a shelf) “ONWALL” and “CONSOLE”:
With this configuration, an equalization is
done for the close-to-wall setup as well as for
the positioning on a plain surface (e.g. a
table, a sideboard, a mixing console etc.
which is placed close to a wall).
LED DAY / NIGHT:
The behaviour of the LED at the front can be
selected in 2 steps. In position “DAY” the
LED glows permanently and shows the oper-
ating state continously. In position “NIGHT”
the LED goes off as long as there is no
command from the remote control.
