Tapping the globe icon with an established connection in effect will show
the "Client Connected" screen. This provides information on the server
and the network connection. For use of the "RX Audio Latency" buttons,
see the troubleshooting section below.
Terminating a Connection
At the bottom of the client settings screen you'll find a <DISCONNECT>
button. Use this to exit from the remote connection.
Troubleshooting Remote Connections
• If the server is unavailable or incorrectly configured, you may see an
error message in the box below the TCP/UDP buttons in the client
connect screen. (List of possible errors and recovery methods TBD.)
• With either TCP or UDP, brief dropouts of audio may be experienced
due to network delays. If this occurs frequently, try increasing the "RX
Latency" setting in the "Client Connected" screen. This will increase
elasticity of the audio stream, reducing errors, though it will also increase
the delay experienced between transmit and receive. Some
experimentation may be required, especially if you're operating in
contests or working a pileup. The best setting may change from time to
time as load on your ISP connection varies.
• If a connection cannot be established due to a router issue (e.g., CGNAT
sharing of IP addresses), you may need to use a VPN. (Additional
information on this topic TBD.)
